On Friday, April 1, within the pristine white walls of a contemporary art museum that overlooks Lake Michigan, the Racine Art Museum presents an untraditional exhibition showcasing fluffy, sugar-coated marshmallow PEEPS. RAM's Second Annual International PEEPS Competition is now accepting entries from artists of all ages to participate in the only museum competition of this kind in the world.

In its first year in 2010, the competition had 63 entries. The show's popularity drew over 2,000 visitors to RAM in two weeks. They enjoyed a riot of electric pastels in creative PEEPS pieces such as PEEPS Couture, the Green Bay PEEPers, Put on you PEEPster Bonnet and even a video entitled Monsieur PEEP Goes to the Museum.

Again this year, all entries will be judged by an expert panel, based on creativity and best use or representation of PEEPS. Contestants are eligible to win amazing prizes, including two exciting PEEPS Brand Prize Packages. Prizes will be awarded for First, Second and Third places in both adult and children's categories. In addition, one lucky artist will take home the coveted PEEPles Choice Award where the community votes for their favorite PEEPS creation.

On Free First Friday, April 1, the Racine Art Museum will host an opening reception for the PEEPS Show, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Visitors and media are invited to talk to PEEPS artists and uncover their creative inspiration. First Friday in Downtown Racine includes free RAM admission and extended museum hours, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. Also, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, everyone is invited to drop-in for a free hands-on community art activity.

All competition entries must be received at the Racine Art Museum by 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 27. RAM's Second Annual International PEEPS Competition is open April 1 through April 28. More information and an entry form is available at http://ramart.org/ram/International-PEEPS-Competition.html.
