On September 3, during First Friday in Downtown Racine, see the Racine Art Museum's All the Buzz exhibitions for free. At the beginning of this season, insects - as depicted by contemporary artists - invaded the museum. See them before they migrate to warmer climates.

For many individuals, insects create a sense of uneasiness. This summer RAM has showcased the works of artists who challenge the viewer to wonder why these creatures are so maligned. Engaging audiences with a variety of bug-related activities and family-friendly events, RAM has experienced a 56 percent increase in attendance to date.

For many visitors, these family-friendly exhibitions and activities drew them into the museum for the first time. While children gravitate to the video presentations in Catherine Chalmers: American Chalmers, adult visitors are transfixed by the intricacy of Jennifer Angus' installation and the beautifully realized visual puns of JoAnna Poehlmann.

The Racine Art Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, Sundays Noon - 5:00 pm and closed Mondays, Federal holidays and Easter. An admission fee of $5 for adults, with reduced fees for students and seniors, applies at RAM. Members are always admitted without charge.

Docent led contemporary craft and architectural tours of the museums are available. Both campuses of the Racine Art Museum, are open to the public Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, and are closed Mondays, Federal holidays and Easter. RAM is open Sunday Noon - 5:00 pm, while Wustum is closed Sundays. An admission fee of $5 for adults, with reduced fees for students and seniors, applies at RAM. Admission to Wustum is free.
