The Racine Art Museum Association (RAMA) Announces New Board Members and Officers

At its annual meeting in May 2009, the Racine Art Museum Association (RAMA) had its annual meeting in May announced the election of five new members to its Board of Directors. The new members include: Darryl Babu, Vice President North American Marine Marketing, Twin Disc, Inc.; David Buhler, Owner, The Greens and Goods Company; Judi Flegel, Art Collector and Volunteer; John Hand, Retired Urban Planner; and Susan Sanabria, Former Federal Lobbyist and Volunteer.

The Board of Directors also elected new officers for the coming year. The 2009-10 RAMA officers are: Tom Creecy, President; Stephanie Lazzeroni, Vice President; Sue Tran, Secretary; and Kraig Bryant, Treasurer.

"We welcome and are grateful to our new Board members for their expertise, guidance and leadership. They represent RAMA's commitment to ensuring diverse interests and perspectives that assist our organization in better serving our audience and the community," said Bruce W. Pepich, RAM Executive Director and Curator of Collections.  "We look forward to working with them."

The Association also thanks the following members for their years of dedicated service to the museum. Retiring Board members who have completed two terms with RAMA include: Bruce Bachman, John Chapman, Katie Gingrass, Barbara Isaacson, David MacNair, Bill Reid and Mary Walker.

Together, the two campuses of the Racine Art Museum, RAM in downtown Racine at 441 Main Street and the Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts at 2519 Northwestern Avenue, seek to elevate the stature of contemporary crafts to that of fine art by exhibiting significant works in craft media with painting, sculpture and photography, while providing outstanding educational art programming.

Docent led contemporary craft and architectural tours of the museums are available. Both campuses of the Racine Art Museum, are open to the public Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, and are closed Mondays, Federal holidays and Easter. RAM is open Sunday Noon - 5:00 pm, while Wustum is closed Sundays. An admission fee of $5 for adults, with reduced fees for students and seniors, applies at RAM. Admission to Wustum is free. Members are always admitted without charge to either campus.
