Racine Art Museum Nominated for Awards in NICHE Magazine's New  Top Retailer Awards Program

Racine Art Museum Store of Racine, WI has been selected as a nominee in NICHE magazine's 2008 Top Retailer Awards in three more categories than it was in 2006. RAM Museum Store has been nominated to receive awards in the following five categories:

Best Arts Nonprofit
Best Visual Merchandising
Best Museum
Top Retailer
Best Advertising/Direct Mail Campaign

Sponsored by NICHE magazine, the NICHE Top Retailer Awards honor the nation's best craft retailers, arts nonprofits, museums and guilds for growing and strengthening the American and Canadian craft community. The program annually recognizes 24 retailers and gallery owners as "Top Retailers", names one "Retailer of the Year", and gives awards in 10 special categories.

In addition to publishing NICHE magazine, The Rosen Group produces the bi-annual Philadelphia Buyers Market of American Craft, the nation's largest wholesale American Craft tradeshow. The Rosen Group also publishes AmericanStyle magazine, a consumer lifestyle magazine for art enthusiasts and collectors.

Together, the two campuses of the Racine Art Museum, RAM in downtown Racine at 441 Main Street and the Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts at 2519 Northwestern Avenue, seek to elevate the stature of contemporary crafts to that of fine art by exhibiting significant works in craft media with painting, sculpture and photography, while providing outstanding educational art programming.

Docent led contemporary craft and architectural tours of the museums are available. Both campuses of the Racine Art Museum, are open to the public Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, and are closed Mondays, Federal holidays and Easter. RAM is open Sunday Noon - 5:00 pm, while Wustum is closed Sundays. An admission fee of $5 for adults, with reduced fees for students and seniors, applies at RAM. Admission to Wustum is free. Members are always admitted without charge to either campus.
