Namasté is an ancient Sanskrit form of greeting used often by Hindus as a sign of respect and recognition. It literally means,"I bow to you" and is often accompanied with a gesture of hands placed together in a praying postion before the chest. It is well known in India, but is also becoming more known in the West.
You may have heard the term Namasté if you are familiar with yoga as a term of respect between yourself and your yoga teacher at the end of each class.
There is a much deeper meaning to and the Namasté gesture of folded hands, than simply a greeting. It is a deeper recognition of the soul connection between people. When you look at someone and really see them.
"I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light and of peace. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me... we are one."
Read this prayer of recognition a few times and let it sink in. Meditate on it if you have the time.
If everyone could implement the Namasté Principle in life, in business, in politics - in war - then there would be no war and the world would be a more loving and peaceful place.
Consider this little message and whisper the word "Namasté" to yourself in all your dealings with people you meet. In happy conversations in gratitude, and in unpleasant exchanges for a more peaceful outcome. Say it to them if they get what it means.
I say Namasté to you and honor your journey crossing paths with mine.
