We all know that a stronger athlete is a better athlete, right? Strength training should be a key component to every athlete's training regimen. This is especially true for endurance athletes who tend to break down muscle when doing lots of higher volume aerobic training.
StrEndurance Vol 1 - 12 Week Strength Training Progression, by Coach Troy Jacobson, is the ideal resistance training program for the busy endurance athlete. Designed for endurance athletes short on time but long on motivation, this 12-week program includes seven short (20-30 min.) workouts that can be done in the home using bodyweight or dumbbells or bands for added resistance. Done in a progressive manner, every two weeks you move 'up' to the next level until you reach week 12. At that point, you begin an effective 'maintenance program' that will enable you to keep your strength during the season.
