Greetings!

Welcome to your monthly update. I hope you enjoy reading the travel articles, tips, and commentary.

Hunterdon County, New Jersey

Welcome to the Garden State

The picturesque countryside of Hunterdon County makes me realize why New Jersey was named the Garden State. Long winding roads, slowly make their way through grass covered fields and past neatly arranged farms. Hunterdon County is where one can get a feel for the pristine farmland which originally attracted many settlers from Europe.

Steeped in history, Hunterdon county has much to offer both its residence and its visitors. Many barns and homes built during the colonial period stand proudly, a tribute to those who carefully restored the historically significant structures. Many farms dot this county allowing you to ride horses near the stable or along the many county trails. Personally, I enjoy slowly driving my car along the many country roads, winding through the horse farms tucked in the rolling hills and valleys.

Peddler's Village

Lahaska, Pennsylvania

A few miles west of the Delaware River, separating New Jersey from Pennsylvania, is a small enclave of shops named Peddler's Village. This quaint village was built as a destination for shoppers and vacationers in the small town of Lahaska, PA. For the past few decades I have been bringing friends and family here to enjoy the many festivals and unique upscale shops.

Slightly over an hour drive from both Philadelphia and Newark airports, this is a great day trip for those whose travels take them to either airport. It is well worth renting a car and driving through the scenic countryside of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Tybee Island, Georgia

Historic and Relaxing.

The relaxing and festive Tybee Island, Georgia is only a 20 minute drive from downtown Savannah. With beautiful beaches and a historically significant lighthouse, Tybee is a great place to explore with friends and family.

A wall of hot steamy air greeted us as we left the air conditioned airplane at the Savannah/Hilton Head Airport. Anticipating a fun filled day, I gathered my belongings and quickly walked to the rental car counter. Approaching the counter, a lady with a beaming smile greeted me with a "how y'all doin".
