Prayer Points

Critical decisions are made every day about our nation.  That's why we urge you to pray.

1. Pray for a new approach to Parliament by all the parties when it begins again on Jan. 26.  With the time off for prorogation there has been room to re-think party positions.

2. Continue to pray for Finance Minister Jim Flaherty and his department as they consider what measures are needed to stimulate our economy as he presents a budget on Jan. 27th.

3. Let's pray for the new interim leader of the Liberal Party - Michael Ignatieff as he puts his leadership team in place.  Pray that he will choose wise and good people to surround himself.

 4. Pray for the new Cabinet.  They continue to work during the prorogation of Parliament.  Many of them have new portfolios and staff that they need to learn to work with.

5. Pray for the grieving families of our fallen military personnel.  Too many deadly casualties have occurred in the last month.

If you read our daily blog we give you lots of extra stuff to pray for on a regular basis.

 Special Prayer for Quebec

Quebec Map

There is a new extensive outreach to the families of Quebec that will take place at Easter.  Congregations will be contacted throughout the whole province to partner with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association on this "Godrocks" event.

We encourage your prayers as this effort gets off the ground.  Our facility will be used for a special prayer meeting for this effort on Jan. 21st at 7:30 PM.  You are welcome to attend.

We Blog!

In recent days we blogged about praying out of a U-haul, shared articles on topics like "Warriors or Worriers" and other insights into a life of prayer.

Greetings,

The new year brings many new opportunities and challenges for our government.  As usual we have provided some prayer points for you to consider in this edition.

We are praising the Lord for surpassing our goal to raise an additional $20,000 in December.  This allowed us to meet all our financial commitments for 2008.  Thank you to all who stood with us throughout the year.

January brings us two training opportunities under the banner of the National School of Intercession.  We will be in Saskatoon during Jan. 22-24, and in Vancouver from Jan. 29-31 as usual teaming up with Cityscape Prayer Ministries on these equipping events.  You can download the posters by clicking on the dates above.  Applications are also available online.

You will note below several more upcoming events.
