Prayer Points

We have now hit the halfway point in this process to elect the 40th Parliament.  Voter apathy is a real concern according to many observers.  People have either assumed that the outcome is inevitable or become complacent with their apparent success.  This is dangerous.  Intercessors need to increase their vigilance at this time.  Below are some key issues we suggest need your prayers.

1. Pray that the Church will seriously engage in the political process by helping out a campaign they believe in and making plans to get out and vote.

2. Lets pray that all Canadians will make an effort to inform themselves and carefully consider the candidates.

3. Pray that the various anti-democratic strategies will be rejected by the voting public.  Protest votes and so-called "strategic voting" can be dangerous novelties especially when they are used to target specific candidates.

4. Pray for both the French and English television debates that will air on Oct.1st and 2nd that this will be a healthy opportunity for each leader to convey their important ideas.

5. Pray that the Lord's will would be done as the right candidate mix comes out of the election on Oct. 14.

Along with our Nazarites we are researching and praying about all 308 ridings during this election.  If you have any insights into local issues or particular candidates that would help us to pray more effectively please drop us a note at [email protected].

Greetings,

We have lots to tell you about this week!

But first we urge you to seriously consider the prayer points to the left and we encourage you to share them with your prayer group.

We are at the end of two weeks of intense training of the 14 Nazarites (young adult interns) who are here for three months of dedicated prayer for our nation.  The Lord has sent us some very excellent men and women.  (See the picture below.)   By the way they are blogging daily at a special website dedicated to the Nazarite Call.

Also in the last week we have been blessed to have 4 tradesmen who have flown here on their own time to continue the work on the apartment that is being created in our basement.  From Morden, Manitoba we have Ron Schwartz, Blayne Wyton and Nathan Klaassen, and from Calgary Rob Parker Jr. who flew in last weekend to prep the drywall.  (In the picture are Nathan, Ron, Levis and Blayne.)

The Lord's Provision!

This fall already has been packed with new challenges and great changes around our ministry centre here at NHOP.

We have been blessed by the donations from two different sources of a fridge and a stove to help us cope with all the extra people living in residence.  Our next challenge is to find another dishwasher.  Perhaps one of our regular newsletter readers can help us out with this request.

In the last year we also recieved money for another van (see picture below) new vanand some funds toward the renovations of a cook's apartment in the basement.

We could still use another $10,000 to complete that project.  Call us if you sense the Lord is prompting you to help us out.

We are so grateful to each individual and congregation that partners with us.

     Representing you in Ottawa.
