Nazarite Praying  Prayer Points

1. Pray for your M.P. as they spend the summer months in their home riding, that it would be a time to reconnect, recreate and renew their family relationships.  If you have the chance to meet them in the next couple of months we encourage you to tell them that you are supporting them in prayer.

2. We also encourage you to be vigilant in prayer for all those in authority this summer. Please pray for the new cabinet ministers as they adjust to their new portfolios.

3. Pray for
"TheCRY" that will happen on Aug. 23rd.  Let's intercede that thousands of believers will attend this wonderful event and that all their costs will be supplied abundantly.

4. We would appreciate your prayers for the "Nazarites" who will be joining us in September, that we will find all of the right ones and that all their needs would be met.

Greetings,

We are looking forward to a busy Canada Day weekend.  Of course part of that is our annual "Government Prayer Sunday" which you will see explained below, but also we are co-hosting a Prayer Rally at 7:00 PM on July 1st and a Prayer Seminar with the Christian & Missionary Alliance on July 2nd. As usual we will be blogging all of it in our daily NHOP Blog

Canada Day

By the way you can still sign the unofficial apology that we have created online that indicates to the First Peoples and our Government that the Christian Church is standing with them.  We have already presented the first 750 signatures and comments to the Ministry of Indian Affairs and also to the chair of the Aboriginal Committee.

It's not too late to celebrate Government Prayer Sunday June 29, 2008!  Our website contains downloadable resources for this special day.

Join with hundreds of churches who are prayerfully supporting the nation on Government Prayer Sunday. We would love to know if your congregation is participating.  Send us a note at info@nhop.ca or call 613-789-4907 if you have not already done so.

This is also your opportunity to participate in our yearly Toonie Offering where many Canadians of all ages contribute to paying down first our mortgage and then other expenses.

100 Huntley St.

Just a week ago on June 19th, Rob & Fran joined Mel and Susan Finlay on the popular show 100 Huntley St. with Ron & Ann Mainse.  It was a wonderful opportunity to share together about mobilizing Canadians to pray for their government.

It was also a great chance to talk about the upcoming "Government Prayer Sunday" that both NHOP and Nation At Prayer are promoting.  Our hope is that in coming years many other prayer movements will use this as a special day to emphasize prayer for government leaders.

We are very grateful to a number of other national ministries who have helped us to promote this idea.  Beyond Crossroads Communications (100 Huntley St.) and Nation at Prayer, we are thankful to Watchmen for the Nations, the EFC, CanadianChristianity.Com, Intercessors for Canada, Prayer Canada, Aglow Canada, Women Alive, CHRI radio, Mission Ottawa, PrayGTA, Prayer Vancouver and numerous provincial houses of prayer for their assistance and encouragement.

Camp Fire2
We want to fire up your teenagers!

In the week leading up to "TheCRY" we will be holding an in-depth training camp for high school intercessors.  Qualified campers will be required to send in a short essay or video submission (YouTube) as their application.

Activities will include prayer walks, street and park outreaches, hikes, museums, worship, prayer and teaching.  Cost is only $300 which includes room, meals, snacks, special outings and T-shirt.  Limited spaces available.

pillars and flowers  With Parliament now recessed we have a bit of a break from regular teams.  That doesn't mean we are closed for the season.  Lots of special activities are planned for the summer, and our team is working hard to get the building and programs ready for a very busy Fall. Our staff will be taking vacations, and speaking as they travel.

If you are in Ottawa don't hesitate to drop by and take a tour!

Thanks for standing with us as we represent you in our Nation's Capital.
