Prayer Points
1. Pray for the relationship between the government and the independent agencies like the Auditor-General, and Elections Canada.
Pray for integrity and transparency in all aspects of government.
2. Please continue to pray for a full and effective apology to be framed for the former students of the Native Residential Schools. We expect this to happen in the next month, but it needs prayer to make this a truly spiritual healing for our nation.
3. Pray for our national media. They play a crucial role in our nation, so they require our prayer coverage if we are going to have a righteous nation emerge in the years ahead. Perhaps you could adopt a media personality as a special prayer target! |

Greetings,
Last weekend we had a wonderful time of growing in prayer as we taught our "School of Prayer" in Elliot Lake. Over 75 folks participated from several congregations in that area of Northern Ontario. The pic below is taken from one of our worship times.
In Rouyn-Noranda, the previous week, we were warmly welcomed by a Francophone congregation where we delivered the same teaching by full translation. More detailed reports are available on our daily NHOP Blog. If you are interested in having us come to your community for a weekend school please see the details on ourwebsite.

Government Prayer Sunday
Sunday June 29th
Get ready with your Canadian Flags for Government Prayer Sunday June 29, 2008, (the Sunday before Canada Day, July 1st) . The National House of Prayer in Ottawa is encouraging churches and individuals from every part of the nation to take part in this second annual national prayer initiative. Sunday June 29th is a day set apart for churches of all denominations across Canada to dedicate a portion of their Sunday morning service in their own churches to specifically pray for Canada and at least one elected governmental leader.
Our website contains downloadable resources for this special day which includes a Prayer for the Nation, a Prayer for Those in Authority and a Prayer for Leaders in All Three levels of Government. The resources also includes a template for your church bulletin and a letter that can be sent out to encourage and thank government leaders on behalf of churches and individuals. Our hope is that the nation's leaders will receive many letters of encouragement for that day along with much prayer support.
There is also the opportunity to participate in the Toonie Offering which can involve individuals of all ages, young and old to support and own the vision and ministry that the National House of Prayer carries for the nation. This one time annual donation supports the ongoing ministry of daily strategic prayer in the House of Commons, in the Senate, in crucial committee meetings for bills and laws, and also personally with Parliamentarians.
Join with hundreds of churches who prayerfully supported the nation last year on Government Prayer Sunday. Contact us for more information at www.nhop.ca or call 613-789-4907.
