prayer and bible  Prayer Points

1. Praise God that Bill C-484 has passed its second reading after a dramatic vote in Parliament this week.
(Read our Blog comments here.)
Let's continue to pray that it will move through the committee stage and come back for a third reading.

2.  It's been an especially challenging week for our politicians as many votes were taken on important items.  Pray that truth and integrity will prevail amidst the various scandals that have surfaced.

3. Pray for Christian M.P.s that they will shine as lights to their colleagues and staff.  Salt and light should have impact wherever they have contact.

Greetings,

Last week we were excited to launch a totally re-created website. Over the last few days we have been totally amazed at how many of you checked it out.  We've had thousands of "hits" and hundreds of others who have also been reading our daily weblog at http://nhop.wordpress.com.  Our goal is to create a resource that you will want to keep checking for new information and prayer resources.

All of this interest is very timely.  Every day brings new challenges for the government of Canada.  They need our prayers especially at this time.

The Cry: Edmonton

the Cry Edmonton

On Saturday March 15th we want to encourage everyone in the Alberta region to participate in "The Cry" that is being held at the Air Hangar (Blatchford Field) in Fort Edmonton.  It's a full day event starting at 10:00 A.M.

Our director, Rob Parker will be there, along with his son, to give their full support.

Our Military Need Your Prayers

coffin of soldier

With the news of our 79th casualty in Afghanistan, our prayers need to increase for our soldiers.

We believe that prayer matters.  Did you know that one of the "Van Doos" regiments that were just transferred back to Valcartier, Quebec, actually brought every one of their 450 soldiers back home?  In the media it was suggested that "luck" and superior training were to be credited.
Knowing how much prayer went up to heaven for these troops, we would like to give the Lord some credit.  By the way they also had fewer wounded soldiers than is normal, according to our sources.  Thank you, God!

If you would like to join the prayer team of the Military Christian Fellowship, can we encourage you to check out their website and sign up for their newsletter?

Check out our new website!

After many months of discussion, design and writing we thank the Lord for a fully re-created bilingual website.  It's still at the same web address -
www.nhop.ca - but if you bookmarked it in the past you will need to refresh it in your "favourites" column.

One of the new features is a much more exhaustive Links page.  Come on over and check it out!
If you are from the local Ottawa area, we want to invite you to consider joining our "NHOP for Newcomers" day this coming Wednesday, March 12th, as it runs from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.  The day includes training, orientation, prayer, lunch and a visit with us to Question Period.  Call us to sign up at 613-789-4907.

Thanks for standing with us as we represent you in our Nation's Capital.
