2nd Annual National Day of Prayer for the Canadian Military

The Military Christian Fellowship of Canada together with the National House of Prayer are calling for a

Prayer Vigil for the Canadian Armed Forces.

On Saturday January 19, at 5 p.m. EST
, we will be meeting in front of the Centennial Flame on Parliament Hill, Ottawa.  Please join us wherever you are.

For those with a burden to pray for our young men and women in uniform (and their families), join in prayer at your churches, on Bases, by the local Armories, in your home, and let us
come as one to petition ...

- for the perfect will of the Lord for our military,

- for the protection of our soldiers in action,

- for abundant grace and spirit-filled military chaplains,

- for the protection of the soldiers families, and

-
for the healing of our soldiers and their families after deployment.

Please pass this announcement along to your church and all those you know that pray.

Last year over 50 other communities in Canada organized a similar prayer vigil in their region.

Let us know if you are considering a similar effort.

Prayer Points

1. Pray for our M.P.'s and Senators as they continue to spend a couple more weeks with their families in their home ridings.  This would be a great time to call them and tell them you are praying for them.

2. Please continue to pray for protection over our troops in Afghanistan.  Let's pray that moderate members of the Taliban will have the courage to lay down their arms and join in making a new democracy work.  Pray for a good participation on Saturday, Jan. 19th for the Military Prayer Vigil.

3. We ask for your prayers for Rob & Fran as they seek to be used by the Spirit to help establish a national House of Prayer in the Ukraine.

4. Please pray for young adults in our nation who are considering "a Nazarite call" on their lives.  Pray that all those who should be joining us at NHOP this March will have their financial needs met and more.

Greetings,

We are really encouraged by the way the Lord is showing His hand during these early days of 2008.
There has already been some good response to last week's call for Nazarites.  See that call again below.  Maybe you know a young adult who should have this forwarded to them.
Rob and Fran Parker are currently back in the Ukraine to consult with leaders there about establishing a House of Prayer for their government.  Fran's observations are also below.

Finally, we hope that many of you will observe a simultaneous Prayer Vigil for the Military next Saturday, Jan. 19th.  Let us know if you are planning on doing this, so we can inform people who are inquiring from across the nation.
The Nazarite Call

Nazarite Call
God has been speaking to many young people about 2008, asking them to set aside this season of their lives for Him.  Has God been speaking to you?  This may resound in your spirit and you have been waiting on the Lord to show you how to answer this call.  Perhaps you are supposed to respond as one of the company of Nazarites gathering at the National House of Prayer in Ottawa, consecrating and dedicating themselves to pray.

We are calling those between the ages of 18 and 35 to join us for a period of 4 to 6 months starting on March 1, 2008.

You will be giving yourself to prayer for the sake of our nation, pressing through on behalf of your generation. Live and work in our centre.  Talk to us about how to raise the monthly support of $700 from your church and friends to cover the cost of meals and room.

Contact us immediately for more information at 613-789-4907  or Email [email protected] for more details and an application form.

(God may be prompting you about a young adult that should consider this call.  Please follow through and bring this challenge to their prayerful attention.)

Pray for the Parkers in the Ukraine

Ukraine Trip

Here's a brief report from Fran about the exciting people that they are meeting and her impressions of a new culture.

"We've had a great time so far. Boy, do these people like to dance and party.
The people are very responsive and the timing is right. We shared with the group from the Messianic congregation on Thursday and showed the video clips from Faytene Kryskow.  It was so fitting as Rob called up the young adults for prayer at the end of the service. There were many of them! It seems to us that this was the right time for us to be here.

In the evening we shared at Pastor Henry's church.  There must have been 700 gathered for the meeting. He is a very gracious man with much authority and favour in the Ukraine and other nations. He wants to support a House of Prayer in the Ukraine and also develop a prayer house in his own church. They have a very large number attending. We prayed for a lot of people tonight. We met a woman who works in the government.  They have such a challenging system here. I believe that God will really show off in answer to prayer here and there will be great testimonies in the coming days.  It felt like something was being established in the spirit and it will take off.

Friday we met with a a very keen group who have a house of prayer on their hearts.  We'll have 2 more meetings on Saturday at the Messianic congregation and then do a prayer walk with the children at the Parliament.

Then there will be more dancing and eating!!!

P.S. Driving here is really scary. Our first driver before the first meeting was at times going 160 kms per hour, no seatbelts, and for our entertainment we were able to see many accidents along the way!  PRAY!"

NsoI in Quebec

We are very excited about the opportunity to spend a week with intercessors in Quebec from Jan. 29 till Feb. 2nd, 2008.  All the information is on our website in both English and French.
We would especially ask you to forward this information to any friends you have in Francophone Canada.

We are booking Prayer Teams throughout the next few months.  Give us a call about the week that you want to join us in prayer here in Ottawa.

For those who are not able to form a full team but would still like to come, we have set aside the week of April 7-11, 2008 as a "Special Ops" opportunity.  It will be a first-come-first-served basis.  Give us a call for more information.

Thanks for standing with us as we represent you in our Nation's Capital.
