Prayer Points

1. We thank the Lord for the progress of Bill C-2 as it passed through the Lower House on Nov. 28th.  Let's continue to pray for its success in the Senate.

2. As most of you know the Ethics committee has been dealing with the Schreiber/ Mulroney affair.  Pray for the Christian M.P.s on that committee that they will set a high standard of integrity themselves and that a higher level of honesty would be the fruit of this effort.

3. Coming up this Thursday, Dec. 13 will be the second reading of Bill C-484 a private member's effort by M.P. Ken Epp entitled "Unborn Victims of Crime Act."  We believe this is a very important matter to keep in our prayers.

Greetings,

Winter really arrived here (as well as everywhere else in Canada) in the last week. This week we gave a snowy welcome to teams from Eastside Church in Calgary, Alberta and Forward Baptist in Cambridge, Ont.

Below is a picture from a team from Grimsby, Ont. who were with us a couple of weeks ago as they prepared to step onto Parliament Hill on a wintry day.

Josiah Team

Last week our team at NHOP had the joy of trying to keep up to the "Josiah Team" that My Canada hosted in our facilities.  Here's an excerpt from Faytene Kryskow's report.

"The week truly was an end-to-end success. Twenty-two young people from all across Canada were on the team, and, in total we had 41 sit down meetings with MPs and Senators. Along with this we had a large turn out of Members and Senators to our annual national reception (see photo above).

We wish you could have been a fly on the wall for each of the meetings as the young people honoured, prayed for and shared their hearts with our parliamentarians regarding issues that were on their hearts. Each meeting was extremely powerful and you could sense that MUCH was being accomplished."

Internship Graduation
snow angels
Among the many experiences that our Interns enjoyed here at NHOP in the last 3 months was to learn the true art of making a snow angel.

It is hard to say goodbye to all of them.  Jenn Bodnar (Toronto), Sarah Craig (Sudbury), Kaaren Robinson (Victoria) and Dale Woolley (Port Alberni) are joined in the snowbank by Joan Jones one of our Prayer Missionaries.  Joan with 74 years experience was demonstrating the proper method.

We are very proud of our interns as they move on to the next season of their lives.  They were very teachable, flexible and faithful and served joyfully alongside our long-term team.

They will be greatly missed!  Stay tuned for some new developments for our Internship Program in 2008.

We have "archives".  Now get all our back issues online!
