Prayer Points

1. Pray for Prime Minister Stephen Harper as he and his staff continue to make key decisions in leading our country while other M.P.s are back in their home ridings this summer.

2. Pray for a spiritual revolution among Canada's youth.  There are a number of significant events happening this summer like "The Siege" events, as well as camping ministries that are impacting young lives in every corner of the nation.

3. Please pray for NHOP as our staff travel and take some vacation time in the midst of planning for new staff arrivals, interns and prayer missionaries who will all be living onsite.

WANTED: Interns

Deadline Approaching:   July 31st

Do you know someone who should consider doing a 3 month internship with us this Fall?

Please encourage them to check out our website for all the details.

Interns work and live alongside our team right onsite at our centre.  They experience a balance of prayer, study and work.

If you know a developing prayer leader who would benefit from an intensive training environment, we want to talk to them.

Greetings!

Over 400 Lutheran youth gathered in Ottawa last weekend for their annual conference.  In a very organized fashion they assembled on Parliament Hill to read scripture, pray and learn about government.

We had the privilege of leading the prayer walks in groups of 50 young people.  They were enthusiastic and energetic despite the heat and the humidity.

Summertime brings the opportunity to work around the house and upgrade our facility.  As Rob and Richard prepared to spread some topsoil for our front gardens we were blessed by the arrival of Pastor Mike Welch with a front-end loader!  That meant a lot less blisters.

Farewell to the McMillans

goodbye for Doug & Michele
After serving as House Managers for our first 20 months we were sad to say goodbye to Doug and Michelle McMillan this past week.  Everyone who stayed here at NHOP raved about Michelle's cooking and were touched by Doug's quiet and kind presence in looking after the practical issues of the house.  They truly were a "mom" and "dad" to all of us.

The McMillans are returning to their home turf in northwestern Ontario with plans to build a strong network of intercessory prayer for that region.  Please pray for them as they land back in Dryden and begin this much needed ministry.

Looking for Intercessors for "Imagine"

This coming November hundreds of church planters and denominational leaders will converge in the National Capital Region for a biennial conference sponsored by Church Planting Canada.  This year's event is titled "Imagine" and will foster new strategies and initiatives for outreach in Canada.

Our associate director, Richard Long is part of the planning team and is in charge of the prayer component.  All delegates will be led on a prayer walk of Parliament Hill and also visit the National House of Prayer.

Richard is looking for intercessors from across the nation who are sensing the call to cover this event in prayer.  He will be sending out regular updates over the next 4 months to all who might be interested in joining him in prayer for "Imagine."

Hit your reply button or send a note to richard@nhop.ca if you want to learn more.
