  • Dear friend,

Our nation needs your prayers more than ever. Talk of a Spring election is in the air. This week and next, our parliamentarians are back in their home ridings testing the mood of the people they represent. When they come back, the new budget will be presented on March 19th. Anything could happen after that.

We want to encourage intercessors all across Canada to be alert and prayerful that God's purposes and timing would be fulfilled for this current government.

    A Call For Resident Intercessors

Over the past number of months I believe that God has been speaking to me regarding a preparation for what is coming to our nation. I was reminded of this last night as I watched Lifeline on the Miracle Channel. Dick Dewert expressed the same feeling and the need to be in a higher level of prayer.

In Ottawa there is much talk of the possibility of an election before too long - which again heightens our burden to encourage, at the very least, the level of corporate prayer that was achieved during our last election. Six weeks ago I met Jesse Engle, son of Lou Engle, and was very impressed with the level of commitment and burden to see many released in the U.S. with a Nazarite-type call to intercede for such a time as this. Jesse visited NHOP and instantly saw our prayer room full of those with the same ?Nazarite DNA? to be released for Canada.

Recently, my One Year Bible reading was from Leviticus where the priests were instructed in not allowing the fire on the altar to go out (Lev.6:12-13). The first fire upon the altar came from heaven (Lev.9:24), and therefore the priests were to maintain this fire so that all subsequent sacrifices might be said to be consumed with that fire from heaven.

God was insistent that the fire must not go out!

All of this is speaking to me of not allowing the fire of intercession to diminish but to actually increase in our nation! From this conviction, I am asking you to pray regarding a number of resident intercessors (I?m not sure what to call these people - Nazarites, Daniels, or something like that) coming to the National House of Prayer for a period of 6 months to one year to help keep up the intercession for government and our nation. I see them maintaining prayer in our prayer room, regularly interceding in the House of Commons and Senate, joining with visiting prayer teams and local intercessors, and sharing in local and regional churches.

I see these people representing all ages and coming from across Canada. They would be sent by the Church of their region with some financial backing. A certain level of maturity would of course be needed and the ability to work with a team of people. These prayer warriors would carry this same burden and urgency for our nation and be able to raise their own support level of $600 per month (20 people @ $1.00 per day!) for board and room.

Please pray regarding these people - that God would put together the exact number and the ones that are answering His call to intercede at a gateway to our nation.

    In His Grip,
    Rob Parker

    Prayer Points

    1. Pray for the families of our M.P.'s. The two week break that our elected representatives are now having away from the busyness of Ottawa is one short opportunity for them to also get some time for their spouses and children. Pray that they will make the most of this window in their schedules.

    2. Pray about the timing of another election. We don't presume to know what would be best for our country. It is quite clear though, that the current minority government is weighing the viability of engineering their own defeat so that they can go back to the electorate for another mandate. This would affect a number of proposed pieces of legislation.

    3. Please pray for the mobilization of intercessors in this nation. Whether stationed in Ottawa or in another strategic part of the nation, we believe it is time for the people of prayer to be alert and engaged.

National School of Intercession - June 18-22, 2007

We believe that the Lord wants to increase the spirit of prayer in the land. If that is so, we need to prepare ourselves as intercessors and posture ourselves for the shift that God is making in our nation.

That's why we are excited about the National School of Intercession. Along with teaching from gifted national prayer leaders, like Sara Maynard from Cityscape Prayer, the week will feature time for activation, individual coaching, personal prayer ministry and practical application.

The cost for this school will be $150 per person, $225 per couple and only $100 for students. Registrants will also need to look after their meals and accommodation. We have had to arrange a larger facility to allow us to accommodate a larger number of students.

If you are sensing that the Lord is calling you to participate in this training week, we encourage you to send us an email requesting the application form and the information sheet about local accommodations and other directions. Contact us at info@nhop.ca.
