  • Dear friend,

One of the greatest things about launching the National House of Prayer has been the support of so many other leaders across the nation.

We don't feel alone. Not only in the National Capital Region, but also from coast to coast there are so many wonderful friends who have stood behind us and cheered us on.

This last weekend was one of those occasions when we had the joy of spending time with many such friends as they came to participate at the Dominion Conference East and took the opportunity to tour our facility.

    Dominion Conference East
    PMO

Over a thousand passionate believers showed up in Ottawa on this past long weekend to pray and prophesy over our nation. Led by Dick and Joan Dewert from the Miracle Channel, they raised the spiritual temperature in our nation's capital.

On the Saturday afternoon, a prophetic rally convened on the steps of Parliament Hill to call forth God's plans for Canada. Amidst the many highlights, there came a moment where the crowd turned and stretched out a hand of blessing toward the Prime Minister's Office. It was especially timely given that an earlier, angry protest rally had seen a religious leader turn his back on the PMO, as a symbol of the rejection of PM Stephen Harper's leadership.

It was a huge blessing for our NHOP team to participate with all of the activities that went on around this Dominion Conference.

    Our Open House
    Open House

Over 300 people arrived on our doorstep last weekend. Most of them processed through our official Open House on Sunday afternoon, as they heard varioius presentations in different rooms and drank our lemonade on the front porch at the end of the 30 minute tour.

A very well organized team of 20 volunteers and staff made the afternoon run like clockwork. The Lord provided a refreshing breeze during the warm, sunny day. Many visitors remarked on the beautiful day and the amazing building given by His hand.

For us at NHOP it was an opportunity to put on display both the facility and the program that we have developed to serve the intercessors of Canada.

    "The Experience"
    tents

Hany and Elizabeth Soryal's outreach ministry - "Quebec Je T'aime" also took avantage of the long weekend to set up their artistic and prophetic tents which they called "The Experience".

Everyone who reported on their experience in the tents said they had a deep sense of God's presence and were touched by His love.

It was really exciting to hear how many of our local neighbours ventured out to discover what was going on in the park. A number of Muslim women decided to check it out after a couple of them had toured our building and decided to tell their friends in the nearby apartment building.

    Prayer Points

    1. Stockwell Day, the Minister in charge of Public Safety has had another busy week with the arrest of more potential terrorists in England. Pray for wisdom and decisiveness as he responds to all situations.

    2. Pray for your Member of Parliament and their family as they spend some quality time together this summer. Let's pray for the strong marriages and family life in a career that put's stress on these crucial areas.

    3. Let's pray for the major media outlets, that journalists and editors would have integrity and fairness in the way they present news stories. Pray for a new standard of righteousness in this critical area of communications.

    The "Consumed" Gathering - Aug.24-26
    consumed

Hundreds of families from all corners of the nation will converge in a couple of weeks in Edmonton for a "Watchmen for the Nation's" Gathering. Our team has walked very closely with the Watchmen family over the last 8 years and we are looking forward to connecting with so many good friends.

There is still time to decide to join in on what promises to be a wonderful celebration of God's goodness and faithfulness. All the details about hotel accomodation and conference facilities are available on their website. There is no registration fee, but all attendees are encouraged to seek the Lord about an offering they should bring to encourage the ongoing work of this movement.

We hope to see many of you there!

With the ongoing conflict on Israel's northern border we have had to rethink our Prayer Tour to Israel. You will be receiving a separate email about that tour in the next few days.

    Representing you in Ottawa,

Rob, Fran, Richard and the team at NHOP
