  • Dear friend,

With a week between hosting the Fijiian "Heal the Land" team, along with a team from Quebec, and the arrival of the Miracle Channel's team of intercessors, we have had a small window these last few days to get more patching and painting work done in our house.

If you have visited us in the last months you will know that after immediately replacing our roof last Fall, we then had to begin repairing ceilings and walls where the plaster had been affected by moisture.

You'll notice the difference the next time you make the trip to Ottawa!

    Jamaica Report
    Brian in Jamaica

Rob Parker (our director) and Brian Wadden (in the picture), one of our Board members, traveled to Jamaica last weekend. Many images were impressed on their minds as they returned.

Beyond the heat of the Caribbean sun and the sunny disposition of the wonderful believers that they met, they were impacted by the prevalent security forces and the abject poverty.

Rob and Brian had the blessing of ministering to a prayer conference on the weekend and then meeting a number of key pastors and prayer leaders on Monday night. They listened to the longing of these Jamaican leaders, as they shared about their vision for a "National Prayer Centre."

After much discussion and prayer, we determined that NHOP should continue to walk alongside these dear Christian friends as they begin to realize their dream. It looks like we will return with a team in early 2007 to participate in more prayer conferences and to assist them in drawing together a national prayer strategy.

We knew that the journey we have been on in our own nation would begin to go to the nations. At NHOP we are realizing that this is part of fulfilling our destiny, alongside many other Canadian ministries.

    Fijian Fire
    Fiji dance

Pastor Vunani and his twelve member team of young Fijians stormed through Ottawa and Toronto last weekend. At NHOP we were privileged to host them and transport them along the way. Imagine the sound of South Sea Island songs filling your vehicle for 6 hours as you drive between Ottawa and Burlington, Ontario.

We were all impressed with the joy and energy of these young Fiji revivalists. They brought their gifts of dance and song, but more importantly, at the end of each meeting they fanned out to impart revival passion to the people in the congregations.

They were especially blessed by the opening that was made at the Crossroads Centre, where they appeared on "100 Huntley St." on Monday morning. As a nation we are indebted to Roger and Marg Armbruster (Canada Awakening Ministries) who arranged this connection and all the meetings from Winnipeg, to Nunavut, and then in Ottawa and Toronto.

    Alain and girl

Last week's newsletter featured a report of the great prayer rally led by Faytene Kryskow and her team back on July 15th here in Ottawa. We mentioned the impact of the prayers of several very young girls as they cried out to Heaven for revival.

Now you can watch that portion of the event on the web. There is a 10 minute video clip available on 4 My Canada's website. We encourage you to watch it and send the link to your praying friends!

    Prayer Points

    1. Pray for our Minister of Foreign Affairs - Peter McKay as he is on a steep learning curve to understand the nuances of international relations and dealing with media back at home. Please pray for wisdom and sensitivity in all his interactions.

    2. Let's continue to pray for the grieving families of our fallen military personnel. In the past week, more have died in Afghanistan, and in Lebanon. Let's also pray for grieving Israeli and Arab families who have lost loved ones in the present conflict. Some of their relatives may be living around you here in Canada.

    3. Dick and Joan Dewert are hosting a Dominon Prayer Rally this next Saturday, Aug. 5th on Parliament Hill. Let's pray for a huge impact as they are led by the Holy Spirit in their intercessions.

    Looking for a Logo!

It's time for us to find a logo that will capture who we are. We will use it on our literature, and T-shirts and maybe even coffee mugs!

Though we have some ideas, we know that there are some talented graphic artists out there who may have even better ones.

So ... we are opening up a talent search. It matters not what age you may be. Send us your sketch of a proposed logo for the National House of Prayer or "NHOP". We will seriously consider every submission.

Our Fall season is almost booked solid with prayer teams from all across the country. We have only a couple of weeks left in the time between September and mid December. If you are planning on bringing a team, even for the winter of 2007, can we encourage you to book early? We don't want to disappoint any group of intercessors as they make plans to come and pray in our nation's capital.

    Representing you in Ottawa,

Rob, Fran, Richard and the team at NHOP
