  • Dear friend,

Last weekend was great! We met so many of our friends and supporters as they came to Ottawa to join in "The Cry 2." In this week's newsletter we share some of our impressions of the day.

It's nice to be missed. Some of our subscribers were worried that they had lost last week's newsletter in cyberspace. Actually, with a house full of young, very energetic leaders, who kept us very busy, we were not able to send out our regular free weekly email prayer bulletin.

    The Cry 2
    Cry03

All of our staff at NHOP were called into active duty to serve the young leaders who organized this amazing day. The biggest difference we noted between the event 4 years ago and this summer's event was the way that a younger generation took the lead in every way. The energy and stamina stayed strong from morning to evening.

Security staff on the Hill estimated that the crowd numbered about 5000 at it's peak. On such a hot, humid day it was something to see the determination of all ages to pray and press through in intercession.

Just as the loud chimes of the Peace Tower clock struck twelve one of the most memorable moments occured. Leading up to that moment, three young girls had come to the microphone with tears in their eyes, and cried out for the souls of Canadians. "Help them to come to know that you love them, Jesus, and help them to love you" they implored. "Revival!, Revival!" was their plea to Heaven. All of us in the crowd were moved to tears with them.

Surely the Lord heard their prayers, and was moved by all the devotion that was offered up to him by thousands of worshippers on July 15th.

We thank God for a history-making day!

    Michèle's China Report
    China

Going to China is a great adventure in so many different ways. There?s something I feel every time I arrive there. I?m not exactly sure how to describe it, but it?s a feeling of being in the only place in the world I need to be. There?s the unshakeable knowing in my spirit that God?s purposes will be fulfilled - even when we?ve just gotten off a bus that?s taken us five or six hours in the wrong direction! There?s the excitement of watching prophetic words spoken to us before leaving suddenly become clear.

And then there are the people! Aren?t they beautiful?

Most of our time was spent in Yunnan Province in southwest China. We made a delivery when we arrived, and then spent a week travelling in the southern part of the province, going all the way to the southern tip near Vietnam. Our team was divided into 2 groups and travelled to 12 different towns, leaving a deposit in each of these places. We had the unexpected privilege of meeting family members in one of these towns ? in fact God sent them to rescue us when we were very, very lost! We ended our trip at an orphanage in the city of Fuzhou in southeast China, loving on some beautiful babies (who are all available for adoption by the way!) and renewing an old and very precious friendship.

It was a great trip. I am so thankful and honoured for each opportunity the Lord gives me to visit China, a country and people I love very deeply. My constant prayer for China is this verse from John 17: And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

A House of Prayer in Jamaica?
    Jamaican flag

Rob Parker, our director, and Brian Wadden, a member of our board, flew out Thursday this week for Kingston, Jamaica. This island nation of 2.7 million people is praying for transformation.

NHOP received an invitation to help a group there that is currently fasting and praying in the streets as they prepare for a Pastors' and Youth Conference in the main Convention Centre. Rob and Brian will be assessing how we as Canadians might be able to assist them to begin their own 24/7 House of Prayer.

Please pray for this conference and for the impact that Rob and Brian hope to make over this weekend. They also plan to meet with local pastors and intercessors at the beginning of next week.

    Prayer Points

    1. Pray for a giant "ripple effect" from last weekend's Cry event. Let's pray that the youth who return to all corners of Canada will set their congregations, families and schools on fire with passion for Jesus.

    2. Please pray for Rob and Brian as they discern the opportunity in Jamaica. Also pray for protection as they move around the city of Kingston, both from any physical danger, and also from spiritual forces of darkness which are prevalent there.

    3. Pray for our Prime Minister and his cabinet as they respond to the huge need of evacuating thousands of Canadians out of Lebanon. Let's remember to hold them up in prayer as they speak and act on the world stage on this particularily challenging issue.

We hope to see many of you at the different events that feature the "Heal the Land" Fijian team this weekend both in Ottawa and Toronto. It's our honour to host them.

The city-wide meeting in Ottawa will be at the City Church on Sat. July 22nd at 7:00 PM. In Toronto it will be at the Toronto Chinese Pentecostal Church on Monday night, July 24th at 7:30 PM. They will also be on "100 Huntley St" on Monday morning.

    Representing you in Ottawa,

Rob, Fran, Richard and the team at NHOP
