Dear friend, In this week's edition we highlight some of our other staff and how the Lord is leading them in the days ahead. While Rob Parker, our director, is away in the Ukraine there is still lots happening here at home base with volunteers helping to do some much needed painting and cleanup.
![]() Our administrator, Michèle Cloutier is heading to south-western China this weekend. This will be her 9th short term visit to that nation. She leads a team of 6 from the Ottawa area who are going with a desire to bless the Chinese people. While there, they will be bringing resources to the Church, sharing good news with local people and also visiting an orphanage. We know there is a special connection between NHOP and China, so we are very proud of the fact that Michèle will be ministering there over the next 3 weeks. Please pray for Michèle and her team that they will be "invisible" from those who might oppose their work as they move around the country. There are some very tight connections with trains and planes, so they would also appreciate prayer for that, and also for "divine connections" as they meet local people. Finally, please ask the Lord to give them good health, safety, and freedom from any complications in their travels. ![]()

The clock on the Peace Tower stopped at 7:28 AM
yesterday, for the first time in decades. Apparently
a fuse had broken. An expert had to be flown in from
the States!
Is the Lord underlining His word? ![]()
![]() Amanda Gould is just completing her 3 month internship at NHOP. She has been a delight to have in our midst and we will miss her sweet spirit. In an interview with Amanda we asked her three questions. 1. What is the most significant thing you learned about praying for government? The most significant thing I learned is that God actually commands us to pray for government in 1 Timothy 2:1-4. I remember sitting in the House of Commons one day looking down at NDP leader Jack Layton and was powerfully impacted as God revealed to me how each of these people governing our nation are truly only human. They go through the same struggles as any other person. Not only do they go through the same struggles and stress, but it's so much greater than you or I would go through because it is on a national level. The responsibility that rests on their shoulders is so great that it is so important that we pray for wisdom for each person, as well as for protection. I was also impacted by the sacrifice each person, whether it be the Prime Minister, party leader, or an MP, has made for us. The hours they put in as a leader in our nation are huge and its not without a cost on their behalf, so for that I thank God and pray that He would bless them abundantly. 2. How has your 3 months at NHOP impacted your life? The last three months at NHOP God has given me a passion to see other countries come into their destiny in God and to see them rise up and call out to God on behalf of their nation and their government. I especially feel a passion to see the youth rise up. God needs all generations and it's time that we as the younger generation rise up and take our place in God's plans and purposes. I have also learned that no matter where I may be in the world it is important that I keep praying for my nation and its government. I have gained a wider understanding of government and how it is run. It has made me have a greater awareness of government and how it impacts my life as a citizen of Canada. I feel a much greater connection with my nation and a deep desire to see all of us as Canadians walk in all God has for us as individuals, as well as a nation. 3. What's next for you? After my time is finished here at NHOP I will be going back to Prince George B.C and work for a few months before I head off in September to Malawi, Africa where I will be going to an orphanage to teach and minister to 130 kids. These kids have never had the experience of going to their capital city as I now have had. I remember before I came here I felt that the government was not really relevant to me. I hope that God can use me to bring revelation to the kids about how important and relevant the government really is. Also how God does have destiny for Malawi and how each one of them has a part to play in that. I am excited to share with them all that I have learned here, especially about praying for their government and their nation. We wish Amanda God's richest blessings as she launches out on her next phase of ministry. This September we will be launching a full 3 month "Internship Program." If you know of a young leader who might be interested, please give them our contact information. We have spots for only 8 interns, and there are already a number who are applying for the Fall semester. ![]()
1. Rob asks us to pray for unity amongst the leaders he is meeting in the Ukraine. His observation is that this is the single most significant challenge as they consider a house of prayer in that nation. Hopefully a larger vision would unite pastors in a new way. 2. Pray for Michèle and her team as they head to China for 3 weeks. See the specific requests in the first article of this week's newsletter. 3. Please pray for Amanda as she prepares for her work in the orphange in Malawi. Pray also for wisdom for us to select the right young leaders for our Internship Program this fall. ![]() |
