National House of Prayer Newsletter

booth at Missionfest

Dear friend,
As a new ministry in the nation, we felt it would be a good idea to set up a booth at MissionFest Toronto. Rob and Richard were helped out by Terry and Robin Long, and some other volunteers from a local church. Fran also joined us on Saturday.

We met lots of new friends, many of whom asked to join our mailing list. We want to especially welcome our new subscribers to this weekly prayer bulletin from the nation's capital.

Have you heard of NHOP?
The surprising answer
Over the two and a half days we spent on the exhibition floor at MissionFest Toronto, we had lots of very curious visitors. The first question that we usually asked was, "So have you heard about the new National House of Prayer?" We were delighted to find out that probably 7 out of every 10 people said "Yes."

It seems like the few times that Rob and Fran have already been on various T.V. programs, it's made quite a difference. That's how most people said they had heard about us. Others told us that it had been through a conversation with a friend that they had heard the news.

The most surprising question that we received from those who had never heard about NHOP was rather amusing. "Is your ministry based out of Washington, D.C.?" We would point to the Parliament Building photograph on our booth, and respond, "We're Canadian! We want you to bring a prayer team to Ottawa."

Prayer Points
The 39th Parliament on display
Throne Speech 1. Pray for a new atmosphere in the House of Commons as the Conservative government has its Throne Speech read on Tuesday, April 4th. In previous newsletters we have reported on some of the signs God has given us that our prayers are being answered as we have interceded for a new righteousness to be the standard of this 39th Parliament.

2. The election of the Speaker of the House is a critical appointment. There is some speculation that there may be a change in this important position. Pray for wisdom for the M.P.'s as they vote by secret ballot.

3. Pray also for the selection of the new Chairs of Committees that will take place over the first few days of Parliament. These become crucial positions which allow M.P.'s to develop their leadership and maturity. Politics Watch notes that due to a minority government there will be more opposition members sitting on these committees. We would encourage you to find out which committee your own M.P. is sitting on, so you can support them in prayer.

A suggestion for you ...
There are several very important national prayer efforts being launched over the next few weeks. We encourage all our women subscribers to check out the website for the Heal our Land National Women's Prayer Wave.

Representing you in our nation's capital,

Rob,Fran and Richard
