| 40 Days of FAITH 5 |
 |
|
September 13th was the kickoff for
the 40 Days of
Faith 5.
Faith Acts In The Home
Turn OFF the TV,
log OFF the internet,
put DOWN the newspaper,
SILENCE the cell phone &
INVEST 5 minutes in your
family!
Here's what the Faith 5 looks like:
Each night in every home, we...
- SHARE highs and lows of your day with
one
another;
- READ a small portion of scripture;
- TALK about how that scripture might
speak to
one's highs and lows;
- PRAY for one another's highs and
lows;
- BLESS each other, marking with the sign
of the
cross on forehead.
The Faith 5 - this is who we are, this
is what we do. Imagine that!

Variety Show by Judy Kirchoff |
|
|
|
On Sunday, Aug. 23rd, there was a great introduction
to the coming of the Variety Show at Immanuel.
Special guest entertainers were the two "Wonder
Women" representing the WELCA Kitchen Dingers.
Thank you, Lori Lucas and Joanna Pierce for
your "Saints Go Marching In" medley and your
wonderful costumes. Tool Time Tim and Misssssss
Ellie were able to make an appearance in between fix-
it jobs and lots of shopping! Thank you, Tim and Ellie
Bjornson. And, finishing his gig on the beautiful Isle of
the Serpent, was Slim Hairlesson and his one-man
band! Thank you, Pastor Paul.
Please put Sunday evening, October 11th, on your
calendars to attend and/or participate at the Variety
Show at Immanuel at 6:30 p.m. Joe Simons will be
the Master of Ceremonies entertaining us with his
great wit. This promises to be an evening of fun and
laughter with dessert/fruit and coffee/juice to follow.
There will be a free-will offering with proceeds going
to the handbell ministry to purchase accessories,
music and table pads.
Are we ready for an evening of great entertainment?
YES, YES, YES!! Variety Show acts can be vocal or
instrumental, dramatic, dancing or jokesters. We
have openings for children, adults and seniors, so
please fill out your area of interest on the welcome
cards. We do need to know the name of your act by
September 30, so don't delay.
