Mistake...certainly that number on the scale was an error! Then I looked at the photo taken last summer...the one that I thought surely had to be the outfit that make me look so heavy. It really wasn't the top, it was all me! I have always been a person of energy, rising early to complete all those projects on my to-do list. However, the truth was that I had slowed down and my knees were beginning to say "Ouch! Those extra pounds hurt!" My body said "make a change", but my head just wasn't ready. Then, my friend, Dawn, told me about Thin & Healthy's Total Solution. This program was just what the knees had ordered!
Since October, my life has changed...all for the best! My passion for working out and eating healthier grew as the pounds started to disappear. The scale is now my motivator, not my enemy. Six months ago I never could have run 35 minutes on a treadmill. Instead, I would have smiled and said, "Who are you kidding???" Now I look forward to my workouts, the weigh-ins and the coaching sessions! I try to head to the gym at least 6 or 7 days a week...go figure! I have made my weight goal, but now am determined to pass my goal. My shopping fever has returned and I delight in wearing my shirts tucked in, surrounded by a belt. I am ever so grateful to the staff at Fusion and Thin & Healthy's Total Solution for their continual encouragement, challenging me beyond what I thought possible and helping create a healthier me! I am confident in whom I have become...and the knee problems have disappeared! Now I actually like being inside my skin!

| Weight Loss Hint--Beans, Beans They're Good For... |
| Bean eaters weigh as much as 6.6 pounds less than non-bean eaters according to John La Puma, MD. Beans are full of fiber and protein but low in fat which means a serving will keep you fuller longer and prevent you from running for a snack as often. |

Nutrition Hint--Salt + Sugar = Fat |
|
Recent research shows that calorie intake from sweetened beverages went up 135 percent between 1977 and 2001. At the same time, we've gotten steadily heavier. Researchers blame an increase in salty foods for making us thirstier, leading us to drink more calorie-rich drinks, which in turn has helped us pack on the pounds. | Metabolism Retraining Hint--Last 10 lbs Got You Stuck in a Rut? |
|
Scale not budging with the last 10 lbs to lose? If you still feel you could stand to lose the last 10 lbs here are three strategies that can help. 1. Scrutinize your food choices. It's likely you've become a little too loose with your program. To correct this write down what you plan to eat for the day and check off each item as you go. Just doing this will often help you make more conscious decisions about what you are eating and gain more control. 2. Increase the number of calories you burn. Longer workouts don't always have to be the answer. Try a new activity to work different muscles or bump up your speed or intensity level or do interval training. 3. Switch your workout to a different part of the day, workout outside or go to a different gym. This will make your routine feel fresh again. Change is stimulating and it can motivate you to exercise harder.
