Building A Best Team By Donna Krech
It's been some time since I've gotten to write this kind of article and I am EXCITED!!!  Today I propose the question, "What makes up a great team, anyway?"

I am honored to be a part of a company that teaches such things and thrilled to have been a part of many amazing teams.  I (of course) think the one I work with right now is the BEST ever!  I mean, after all, we're a building full of people passionately dedicated to seeing those we come into contact with be the absolute best they can be!  AND we're a MULTI-NATION of passionate people dedicated to serving those around us and building the best in them.  THAT'S THE TEAM MADE UP OF YOU AND I... Home Office and your location.  THIS IS THE BEST ORGANIZATION IN THE WORLD!!!!   As I type this thought we're in the midst of an Olympic celebration.  Teams from all over the globe are cheering for their respective team members.  Celebration is abundant... AND it's contagious!

So here's today's proposition.  Is the team you're part of an amazing team?  Would you like to empower them to be even more amazing--- and show off just how amazing they are?  Are your coaches, MRTs and managers doing awesome things for your Thin&Healthy's Total Solution members?  Is your community being served by your marketing and sales pros in ways that deserve recognition?  How about your fitness facility team?  I'll bet they're a great group too, eh?  Those Personal Trainers, Group Fitness folks, front desk people and managers, I'll bet they could bring home some gold for being passionate about fitness and health, yes?  Well, my friend... the contest I'm sharing in this article gives you the chance to show these folks off.

You've no doubt already heard about the Thin&Healthy Family Reunion on July 16th in Lima, Ohio.  You've most certainly discovered that as a result of what will be taught on that day your team will leave with:
·        NUMBER OF SALES INCREASING BY 50- 500% (More Lives Being Changed)
·        MEMBER RESULTS QUADRUPLING
·        NUMBER OF LEADS EXPLODING DUE TO MORE STRATEGIC, EASY-TO-APPLY PLANS
·        A NEW MARKETING AVENUE THAT WILL GET MORE MEMBERS AND KEEP MORE MEMBERS

Hold on to your hat--- there's more!!  I'm sure you've heard that our Lima facility walked 200 new prospects in the door in one day!!  To date, we've seen 100  new pieces of business come from those prospects and there's still more coming!  Total Solution programs were sold, Fitness memberships were sold, personal training, Life Coaching and thousands of dollars in product!!  Did I mention these prospects didn't cost us anything????  Well, at the Family Reunion we'll introduce you to how we did it and how what we did can be applied to any business!

This is the event where your Superstars will be recognized and treated as the kings and queens they deserve to be treated as.  The I BELIEVE necklaces will be back at this event so live that belief and display that victory-believing culture with pride... you WILL be recognized for it!  We'll be showering, burying and wrapping some of those who attend with cash-ola and this event is for EVERYONE!

The BEST, most AMAZING TEAM Contest ever held in the history of our company will also culminate at this event.  And the prize for this contest is unlike any we've ever given before!  We'll produce with your team your very own DVD to be distributed throughout the locations as the next step up from Exercise Is Magic.  Create a concept for a class that features modifications for those who are very fit, down to those who have never exercised, which means showing modifications.

This will be one ROCKIN' class that could potentially change the shape of the world, and that will definitely change the shape of your community!  You'll be applauded by media.  You'll get more leads, have more sales and see members purchasing more.... simply because you're in this DVD.  And... as you know, some of my products have shown up in Costco, Sam's, Wal-Mart, Target and other retailers.  Who knows what could happen...... :>)

There are 4 simple steps to the process of being selected as Thin&Healthy's Total Solution Metabolism Retraining DVD Rock Stars and each one will be focused on in each month leading up to the July event.

For March you'll simply tell us how awesome your facility team is. If you are a member reading this, you know how great your THTS center's team is ask them if you can say a few words on their video or make your own. We want everyone involved!  The guidelines of what needs to be contained in this short You Tube video.  The deadline for March's submissions is March 26th and will also be this month's cookie contest.  Stay tuned for the 3 next steps.

I must tell you... I am so excited for this event!!!!  I'm a family girl so I LOVE the idea of a family reunion!  I LOVE fitness so I CAN'T WAIT to see all the creativity in the classes.  I am passionate about passionate teams so am PUMPED to see the display of your team pride!  It's going to be a spectacular time filled with giving necklaces, celebrating, sharing, learning, laughing, growing, making money and making memories.  Call us at Home Office now to reserve your seat.  Start planning for the submissions!  We can't wait to celebrate our incredible culture together!!!

Weight Loss Hint--Know The Facts
Knowing the truth about losing weight can help you separate what works from what doesn't. Don't be taken in by expensive weight-loss fads like pills, herbs, and special foods. There's no magic way to lose weight.

Fact: When you skip meals, you don't give your body the energy it needs to work. Hunger makes you more likely to overeat later on. It's best to spread your meals throughout the day. Eat at least 3 meals a day.

Fact: The sooner you start exercising the better. Exercise helps burn more calories, tone your muscles, and keep your appetite in check. People who continue to exercise after they lose weight are more likely to keep the weight off.

Fact: This seems like it should be true, but it's not. When you eat too few calories, your body acts as if it's on a desert island. It thinks food is scarce, so it slows down your metabolism (how fast you burn calories) to save energy. By eating too few calories, you make it harder to lose weight.

Fact: Going back to your old eating habits and giving up exercise is a sure way to regain any weight you've lost. The lifestyle changes that help you lose extra weight can also help keep it off. This is why you need to make changes you can stick with.

Fact: All foods, even fat-free ones, have calories. Eat too many calories and you'll gain weight. It's okay to treat yourself to a fat-free cookie or two. Just don't eat the whole box!
Metabolism Retraining Hint--Are You In Hate With Your Arms?
Getting Rid Of The Second Wave As You Wave Goodbye

Short sleeves, tank tops, halter tops...the time that we'll all be sporting something that shows our arms is just around the corner and that second wave as you wave goodbye with the bottom of your arms flapping is something we all want to get rid of so here are some tips to start firming up those arms.

To tighten those areas, we recommend lateral raises. Stand with your arms relaxed at your sides. Hold light weights in your hands, with your elbows slightly bent. Lift your arms out to the side. Bring your wrists, elbows, and shoulder in line. Then slowly relax, bringing your arms down and back to your original position. Do two sets of 8-10 repetitions each. The weights should be heavy enough that the last two reps are difficult.

We recommend you do this exercise every other day--You never do the same muscles every day.
Push-ups are also great for arms and they help you get rid of flab without any equipment.

Remember that moving your body is a form of resistance exercise, even without additional weights. In effect, you are working with a weight the same as your body weight. The key is to work against gravity.

Chin-ups are also arm exercises...  Even if you can't get up all the way, it's a great exercise. Chin-ups strengthen your grip, your arms, and your upper back.
In women, a toned muscle is a smaller, firmer one.
Muscle also burns more fat and appears to be more active than fat tissue.

So before some of us in the colder climates crawl out of our snowy cocoons, let's start working on those arms and wave goodbye to the flab and hello to awesome arms!
Nutrition Hint--Shrimp...the other fish?
OK, well we know shrimp is seafood and not fish and we also know it's a great alternative protein choice you may have forgotten about.

Keeping a bag or two of shrimp in your freezer is always a great idea.  You can add them to stir-fries, pastas or just serve them with a cocktail sauce as a snack or appetizer.  At only 84 calories per three-ounce serving, shrimp has about a third the calories of chicken and about half that of sirloin.
