Food in the Hood MeetingFood in the Hood
The Food in the 'Hood Committee will be hosting a meeting on Wednesday night to discuss plans for next year and some developments with the Healthy Corner Store Initiative. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to contribute to the Mayor's Boston CAN Share campaign.  
 
Tavolo's Pasta TourTavolo 
Tavolo will be hosting a Pasta Tour of Italy to benefit Ashmont Nursery School! On December 14, Tavolo's Pasta Tour will feature Basilicata. Proceeds will be donated towards Ashmont Nursery School.

DBOT Healthworks Coat Drive
Swing by Healthworks, located at 450 Washington Street, to drop off, or pick up, a gently worn coat this winter.  The drive will be held on Thursday evening and Friday early afternoon.

MCILB Toy Giveaway
The Multicultural Independent Living Center will also be hosting a toy giveaway later on into Saturday afternoon.  Only children with disabilities are eligible for gifts.  There will also be refreshments, food, and fun.

Recycling @ Codman Library  

Saturday will be a busy day at the Codman Square Branch as they will be holding a Holiday Expo, featuring local author Joan Blake, local vendors, and a cupcake bar.

The library will also be hosting a electronic recycling event with all the proceeds going to Freedom in Christ Ministry, located a little ways down Washington Street.  Bring in used ink and laser cartridges, old cell phones and mp3 players to assist in this fundraiser that benefits both the local and the global.

A Service of 9 Lessons & Carols @ All Saints All Saints
The Parish of All Saints, Ashmont invites the public to A Service of Nine Lessons & Carols, sung by the Choir of Men & Boys. The performance will be an exciting variety of readings and carols for the season. The parish's choir of Men & Boys follows the English cathedral choral tradition, and is one of only 30 such choirs in the United States!

"Deck The Windows", part of Boston's Main Streets Initiative, is a competition of businesses with the best holiday display, and now it is time for you to decide which one you like best.

Codman Computer Learning Center Spring Term Begins!
The Codman Square Neighborhood Development Council Computer Learning Center will be open for its Spring Term in January, providing a variety of programs that are free of cost for the whole community. Classes include Basic Computer Skills (English and Spanish), Pre-Employment Training (English and Spanish), Microsoft Word Training, and Open Access Hours.

In 1885 a 26-foot high fountain was installed in memory of Theodore Lyman, Jr., Mayor of Boston in 1834-1835. Lyman was called the first to introduce water into the city. The fountain dissapeared in the mid 20th century.
