Boston City Singers Registration!
|
 Sign up for the Boston City Singers! The Singers groups use a distinctive curriculum that trains children as young as three years old (or as old as 18) to sing well. No other major area chorus program starts with children so young! Each singer progresses through several levels: Kodály Singing Class, Neighborhood Training Chorus and Concert Chorus. Singers learn about diverse communities and cultures by performing an extensive repertoire including gospel music, international folk music, opera, jazz, and medieval chant.

Mingle with members of the Boston Haitian community and friends of Haiti while supporting a terrific effort to fight for fair representation and human rights.

Now Accepting Applications: Clemente Course in the Humanities
|
The Clemente Course in the Humanities provides college level instruction, with the award of college credits, to individuals at no cost and in an accessible and welcoming community setting. Participants study four disciplines: literature, art history, moral philosophy, and American history. Students explore great works of fiction, poetry, drama, painting, sculpture, architecture, and philosophy, while learning also about the events and ideals that define America as a nation. The course also offers instruction in writing and critical thinking.
Clemente classes will be held at the Codman Square Technology Center, 450 Washington Street, Dorchester on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning October 2011 and running through June 2012.

 SCI Dorchester @ DotWell is still recruiting! SCI AmeriCorps members will serve between September 2011 and June 2012. Members are selected on a rolling basis.
- Outreach & Technology Coordinator implements technology (such as this website!) and conducts traditional outreach to connect citizens with the information they need to participate in civic life.
- Youth Leadership Coordinator provides leadership training to youth and engages them in Community Service Learning (CSL) and other civic activities.
