Summer Solstice Garden TourThe Dorchester Park Association invites you to explore the hidden floral treasures of Dorchester. The Hidden Garden Tour will include stops at private residences and local commercial sites, followed by a reception and gardening demonstration at Cedar Grove Gardens. You will have the opportunity to tour over eight beautifully designed gardens, by foot or take the trolley. Get into the summer gardening spirit on Saturday!

Power ForumA coalition of African-American empowerment, faith-based, public policy and cultural organizations invite you to a forum entitled "Black Community Losing Power: Counting Inmates in the Wrong Place." This community forum will teach you about "prison-based gerrymandering": the counting of inmates as residents of their incarcerated communities in the census rather than their original communities. Come to the Mattapan Branch Library on Tuesday to be inspired by speakers and learn what you can do to help these injustices be recognized.

Youth Sports Night

Youth Sports NightInterested in tennis? How about basketball? Maybe double dutch? You can do it all at Franklin Park's Drop-in Youth Sports Nights! Intern this Summer with My Dot Tour

My Dot Tour

If you know of any youth looking for a fun summer job, tell them to check out My Dot Tour! My Dot Tour is seeking interns for a multimedia walking tour through Fields Corner led by local youth. This is a paid position, participants will receive stipends and work 10 hours per week from July 5 to August 14. Interns will have the opportunity to learn all about their neighborhood and will have something great to put on the resume before they even get to college!

Beantown SlamGet your dunk on this fall in Dorchester! The 6th Annual Beantown Slam is here, featuring the best boys and girls high school basketball teams from all over the state. Providing fun for all ages, this highly sought after league is great for the whole family and run right out of the Dorchester House Multi-Service Center. The program starts up in September, but there is already a waiting list for teams so act fast!
