Dorchester Flashback
|
Dorchester Illustration of the Day no. 1474
The house was located at about 384-386 Washington Street near Four Corners on the north side of Mother's Rest. It was occupied for a short time in the 1860s by Edwin T. Booth, the famous actor whose brother was John Wilkes Booth. It was a Dorchester landmark for nearly a century and was later tenanted by Rev. Elijah Cutler. In 1916 it was torn down, and in 1928 the Greenwood Church Community House was built at that location. John Wilkes Booth visited here when he came to perform in Boston.
