Last Day for 2010 Boston's Best Neighbor Award Nominations! |
 Today is your very last chance to honor an individual in your community for the Best Neighbor Award! This includes anyone who may have made contributions to other neighborhoods, projects, or citywide concerns.
The 2010 winning nominee will receive $3000 and a plaque to be presented in a private ceremony in October. The individual who nominates the winner will receive a $500 check and $500 donated to the charity of their choice. If you know of anyone in your community who deserves recognition, now is the time to show your appreciation.

"Before It's Too Late" Reunion at Florian Hall |

Boston Archaeology Lab Open House |
 The City of Boston Archaeology Labratory is home to millions of artifacts that illuminate Boston's history and is having an Open House on Oct 1st at 3pm.
Come say farewell and congratulate Emma Berkland for all her contributions to the Boston Archeology Lab as she moves onward and upward to a new position as Staff Archaeologist with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

| An Evening of Jazz with the Fred Woodard Trio |
The Fred Woodard Trio will be holding a free performance on Tuesday evening at the Boston Public Library, Mattapan. Fred Woodard has been leading his own jazz groups since 1988 and the Fred Woodard Trio has performed extensively together playing for The Discover Jazz Festival, The Providence Jazz and Blues Festival. Woodard is also a local teacher at the Roland Hayes School of Music in Roxbury.

| "Illustrated Cocktails" Artist Reception |
The Ashmont Grill is hosting a reception and Meet & Greet with artist Cynthia Marie Bogues on October 5. Bogues has taken part in the Dorchester Open Studios and has also designed clothing and handbags which have been featured in Stampington & Company's series of magazines.

Generation Next Academy, formerly know as The Dorchester Teen Center, is holding an open house on Thursday, October 7 for after school. Light refreshments will be served and this will give parents an opportunity to hear about programs offered, tour the facilities and meet the staff!
