"The building of the First Parish Church that served the congregation from 1816 to 1896 is shown in today's illustration. Look at this one carefully to note the architectural details. The pastors who served in this church were: Thaddeus M. Harris, 1793-1836 Nathaniel Hall, 1835-1875 Samuel J. Barrows, 1876-1881 Christopher R. Eliot, 1882-1893 Eugene R. | Health Centers Give Gifts Too |
The DotWell Partners, Codman Square Health Center and Dorchester House Multi-Service Center, each threw their Annual Christmas Parities this past Saturday. Between the two parties, over 1,200 gifts were distributed to Dorchester children. Both Health Centers managed their parties differently, but they both were successful in bringing holiday cheer to the neighborhood. SCI played critical roles in both events, helping to connect volunteers and build social capital. To find out more about the Codman Square Holiday Party go here. |
SCI Dorchester's mission is to strengthen the Dorchester community by connecting diverse individuals and organizations through civic engagement initiatives. We envision a community where individuals are strongly connected to their neighbors and play an active role in shaping the destiny of our community. This increase in 'social capital' will result in a community that is safer, healthier and more vital. For more information click here.
The mission of DotWell is to work in collaboration with our founding health center partners - Codman Square Health Center and Dorchester House Multi-Service Center -
to provide integrated clinical and community services that address
health disparities, build social capital, and meet the complex needs of
our communities.
