Thank you for a successful 2010

2010 marks the end of 13th year in Mertech's history. Over those 13 years, Mertech's products have been and are being used at over 8,000 companies around the world. Our success has largely been due to the strong support we have received from our partners and customers over the years. We are grateful for your support and business. Thank You!

In the first quarter of 2010, Mertech added support for the MySQL driver in our BTR2SQL product line. This release allows Btrieve/Pervasive users to offer a low-TCO enterprise-level database with their applications. With MS SQL, Oracle and now MySQL, Btrieve/Pervasive users can now offer their applications to almost 90% of the database market on the Windows platform, without changing their application source.

In 2011, Mertech plans to add support for PostgreSQL for Btrieve users. PostgreSQL is the only true non-commercial enterprise database that can be distributed under limited GPL license. This means ISVs can deploy solution based on PostgreSQL without paying any royalty to any company. This is a great database for those deploying their applications across a large number of sites.

Another major milestone for Mertech this year was the release of DocuMentor. DocuMentor is the first product of its kind to generate and maintain technical design documentation directly from DataFlex and Visual DataFlex application source code.  The idea behind DocuMentor is to help companies implement an effective software development process, increase programmer productivity, and reduce the cost of training new developers. These benefits allows companies to significantly reduce the cost of application reengineering and provide insurance against losing important members of the development team.

We continue to invest heavily in R&D by adding new features to existing products and developing new ones  and look forward to providing you with the products and services you need to succeed. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and successful 2011.

Best wishes from the Mertech Team
