Entering 2009 Mertech, like most software vendors, was skeptical about meeting its sales goals after the great economic meltdown of late 2008. As 2009 ends, we are happy to report that we are ending the year as our best year ever in terms of sales and customer growth.

We continue to invest heavily in R&D by adding new features to existing products and developing new ones. Our Flex2SQL v10 drivers for DataFlex were a huge success in terms of how quickly they were adopted by our customer base and the positive feedback we got back from customers regarding performance and stability.

As for new products, Mertech will be adding support for a MySQL driver in our BTR2SQL product line. The product is slated for beta release in the first quarter of 2010.
Adding support for an open source database will allow Btrieve/Pervasive users to offer a low-TCO enterprise-level database with their applications. With MS SQL, Oracle and now MySQL, Btrieve/Pervasive users can now offer their applications to almost 90% of the database market on the Windows platform, without changing their application source. In tough economic times this flexibility offers the best chance to attract new customers without major investment in re-engineering.

We
here at Mertech know that we are only as successful as our customers and partners and we want to thank you all for your business and continued support. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and successful 2010.

Best wishes from the Mertech Team
