Hi Everyone,
We are gearing up for Demo Day this Saturday with lots of great projects. Be sure to open your email on Saturday to see what we have planned for our 12 Days of Christmas Sale.
We are sorry but we ran out of the Scrapbook and Cards Today Free magazines. The good news is that I ordered more and they will be here next week. We will not be offering rainchecks for the magazines.
Join us on Saturday December 10th from 11 - 4 pm for Demo Day! If you have not been in the past few months, I highly encourage you to come on out and make some great projects. Lines at each table have virtually been eliminated since we have changed up our seating arrangements, so no more waiting to get at your favorite project tables. Join us for 14 great projects all just $2 each. We do the cutting and you do the gluing. Just drop in anytime after 11 AM and purchase tickets at the front counter for however many Demos you want to create. We provide glue sticks so if you prefer tape, please bring a labeled tape runner. If you get to the store by 3PM, you should have enough time to do all the demos or get kits to go. If you complete 6 demos, you will receive a coupon for 10% off your purchases for the day (not including special orders or other sale special offers). If you do 12 Demos, you get to pick a box with a mystry discount. Discounts range from 15% to 50%.
 Here is Cindy's card. It is quick and easy and the blue/silver/white combination is perfect for winter. This is a great card for Christmas, Winter, or just the holiday season. You could also use it just to say "hi" to a friend. Cindy will have a few different sentiments on the table, or you can skip the sentiment all together if you like.  Gina has been busy creating a bunch of new layouts for Demo Day. Remember, we only have about 20 of each layout.
Lisa Halstead will be making these special treat bags for your doggie and kittys. Tina whipped up this wintery snowman card.
Vanessa is making this elegant Christmas card.
Jonsey will be embossing and sanding for a cool effect on this holiday card.

It's all about the embellishments. After Gina helps you pick out the papers and some embellishments to use, you will make 2 pages using photos you bring, Gina will teach you how to use ribbon, fibers, tearing, brads, tags, inking stamping, buttons, chipboard, distressing techniques and flowers. (You will not be making this layout. You will be creating a layout using papers you and Gina pick out. This layout just shows some of the techniques you will learn.) $15

Monday December 19th 6-8 PM Scrapping 101 with Gina
Do you want to get started scrapbooking but don't know where or how to start? Are you overwhelmed by all the choices when you come in to shop? Do you have boxes of photos under the bed and don't know what to do next? Then this is the class for you!
Gina will teach you all you need to know to make your first scrapbook pages. You will learn how to use tools, pick colors and how to adhere your photos safely. Please bring 4-8 photos and you will complete your first page in class. Fee $12 Tuesday December 20th 6-8 PM Quick Quotes Canvas Class

Little Yellow Bicycle Winter Twig
If you are like me, you may not be ready for snow yet, but just like Christmas, it will be here before you know it! And if you are like me, you already have snow pictures from our freak storm on October 29th! So it is a good thing we have already got a new winter line from LYB called winter twig. I used 3 different paper prints and a variety of embelishments from this line to make my 2 page spread. I also used color box ink in blue lagoon (my fav.) to distress edges of white cardstock to make them pop off the page. While getting design inspiration from a magazine, I read an article about "clustering". You may already do this and not know there was a term for your design! It consists of grouping things (like photos, words, or embelishments) together on your page by layering to add balance to a title or ground a journal spot, or even draw the eyes to your photos. I like it because it allows you to use many embelishments together without looking junky! So I went nuts with chip elements, transparancies, cardstock stickers, chip titles, and label stickers! They also have borders and cool snow flakes to add to your projects, even some embelishments with glitter for those of us who like some sparkle! I played with my large variety of embelishments until I got it clustered enough for my eyes to enjoy without being overpowered by stuff on my pages. Remember, there is no wrong way in scrapbooking, only how your eyes like to see things! So try something new, like clustering, I am going to try clustering something else next month! |
