Wacky Wednesday Cards

Join us for two new cards.  You will be using twinkling H2Os on both cards.  I forgot to take a photo of the second card but trust me it is pretty.  I used a doily, ribbon, a new embossing folder, vellum butterflies and a pearl pin.  Just $2 each

All customer yard sale purchases must be made using Scraps Cash (store credit). Scraps Cash is not redeemable for actual cash but can be used for purchases at Photo Scraps.

 

We have been very busy with shippments arriving daily.  We received three new lines from Simple Stories, 25 Days of Christmas, Generations and Happy Day.

We tried some new embossing folders from Darice and they work great. 

 


We got some of the ABC Primer papers from Graphic 45 in open stock papers.

  

Demo Day went very smoothly with our new set up and I heard lots of positive comments from our customers. 
 



We are still looking at your suggestions and making adjustments as we go.   In fact, we decided to have a second Demo Day,  well not so much a day as an evening event.  Our first Friday night ....

 Happy Hour Demos with Free Beer 
 Join us on Friday September 30th from 4-9 PM for our Happy Hour Demo evening.  We will be putting out 5 cards from our Demo Day along with new layouts and new cards.   Join us for 12 great projects all just $2 each. We will have a variety of cards and layouts for you to create. We do the cutting and you do the gluing. Just drop in anytime after 4PM and purchase tickets at the front counter for however many Demos you want to create. We provide glue sticks so if you prefer tape, please bring a labeled tape runner.  Oh, we will be serving Free Rootbeer with the Demos.

Jen Starr is a fully Certified and Ranger Recognized Instructor.  She was the 2007-2008 Design Team Coordinator for Ranger Industries and continues to teach and do private design work for them. She enjoys being a Golden Embassador for Tattered Angels, an Endorsed Instructor for Prima and was the Lead Creative Designer for Canvas Concepts. More recently she has become certified with Ten Seconds Studio and has added some metal work to her inky class line-up! Jen has designed several signature product lines and her projects have been featured in many publications in the US and Europe including the "Ink Essentials" book.  

Jen absolutely loves to teach her students to use their creativity and help them think outside the box. It makes her so happy to be able to share her skills, knowledge and love of the art of scrapbooking and stamping with so many others.

25 Days of Christmas Album

 Come and create a festive mixed medium project that is filled with dimension and pizazz! You will be using the NEW Christmas collection "25 Days of Christmas" by Simple Stories, playing with tools by Epiphany Crafts, working with an album that Suzy helped design by Basically Bare and more! There will painting, spritzing and stitching!

Supplies needed:
12"trimmer, fine-tip scissors, foam squares, glue dots, strong liquid adhesive (Helmar's or zip dry),
strong double sided tape, ink blending tool, ink pads in browns, deep greens & reds, distresser (TM has to use if you don't have one), sander, paper piercer, needle for stitching.

Class Fee: $45

Create a Life of Love With Suzy West    $40
I've been busy creating with Authentique since I became a teacher for them!! I love their products so it's not hard! LOL I'm getting tons of projects done so I can get all the details to all the stores that I plan to teach at!!
I've had some stores ask that I create a book similar to one that I created before but with this new line. I'm super excited about this project and I'll be showing you how to use that piece of 12x24 paper that Authentique makes!

 

I have had a number of our wonderful customers bring in their creations.  The first up was Annabelle Kratz who has shared some of her wonderful cards with us before.  She has been having fun with Hero Arts large floral stamps and Distress inks.  We used this technique on this week's Wacky Wednesday card.  First, you stamp with Versamark or pigment ink, cover with embossing powder and heat set.  Then, grab your Tim Holtz Distress inks at least 2 shades for blending and some blending foam.  Then, ink it up.

Carol Gorrell has shared some great framed projects with us before and today she showed us how beautiful an easy Halloween card can be.  She started with some Memory Box papers and added from there.   She added some stamps with a simple black ink, some ribbon bats and a couple of punched shapes. 

 

Alice Isenbart brought in this amazing crayon box that was made from scratch using a template provided by Laura Denison and was featured on the Graphic 45 blog.   Alice recreated this project perfectly and we are looking into the possibility of teaching it as a class.
