Drop in between 11-2 and you can create a fun project. All the pieces will be pre-cut to make the project go together easily. Fee $6

Scrapbooking 102
It's all about the embellishments. After Gina helps you pick out the papers and some embellishments to use, you will make 2 pages using photos you bring, Gina will teach you how to use ribbon, fibers, tearing, brads, tags, inking stamping, buttons, chipboard, distressing techniques and flowers. $15

Dave's 2011 Summer Class Tour You can also join in the fun as Dave Brethauer, Memory Box's designer, goes on an 8 week tour across the United States as he visits 22 stores, teaching classes on watercolor and colored pencil using the new products! Dave will begin in Olympia, WA and end up in Topsfield, MA - stopping at stores he's visited before as well as lots of new stores. We are getting so excited for Dave's visit next week. I grabbed these photos and his discriptions from his Memory Box blog. There are still about 3 seats left for his classes.

Memory Box Holiday Colored Pencils
Come and learn about color, blending and shading while using Memory Box images and papers and our latest dies! Each student will make 5 cards using colored pencil techniques that will make you color like a pro. We'll put color to work in analogous and complementary colors schemes to really make your greeting cards stand out! Fee $49
Tuesday August 9th 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Memory Box Watercolor
This fun class teaches watercolor through watercolor paints and watercolor pencils. Learn the advantages of each watercolor media and get some helpful tips for applying watercolor to greeting cards. Try out different types of watercolor paper while learning washes and blending techniques. Each student will create 5 cards in an informative and supportive teaching style. Fee $49

Copic 102 class with Lisa Hetrick. -
The class will include how to: 1. Shadows and Light Source. How to shade with the light source in mind.2. Colorless Blender Technique. How to fade to white and marker to blender pen pushing. 3. Blending Solution Techniques. Using the colorless blending solution to create texture (and a surprise technique Fee $22 (if you bring your own Copic blender pen) or $28.49 including the blender pen. Please bring your own labeled Copics if you have them.

Demo Day Saturday August 20th 11-4 PM Join us for 11 great projects all just $2 each. We will have a variety of cards and layouts for you to create. We do the cutting and you do the gluing. Just drop in anytime after 11 AM and purchase tickets at the front counter for however many Demos you want to create. We provide glue sticks so if you prefer tape, please bring a labeled tape runner. If you get to the store by 3PM, you should have enough time to do all the demos or get kits to go. If you complete 8 demos, you will receive a coupon for10% off your purchases for the day (not including special orders or other sale special offers). Laura has a stunning card planned for you to make.  Gina has started creating layouts for Demo Day. Remember, she only has about 20 of each layout so first come, first served.

Scrapping 101 with Gina
Do you want to get started scrapbooking but don't know where or how to start? Are you overwhelmed by all the choices when you come in to shop? Do you have boxes of photos under the bed and don't know what to do next? Then this is the class for you!
Gina will teach you all you need to know to make your first scrapbook pages. You will learn how to use tools, pick colors and how to adhere your photos safely. Please bring 4-8 photos and you will complete your first page in class. Fee $12 | |

Faber-Castell KaiserCraft Mixed Media Easel
Lisa Hetrick has gone crazy with techniques for this amazing class. The project is made up of layers of white tissue paper, stamped and collaged. The center flower is created on mixed media paper and you will also work on the coloring process for the flower. The other colored flowers are done right on the project with the gelatos and big brush pen. You will paint and distress as well. Each student will receive their own set of Red Faber-Castell Mixed Media kit ($15 value).
Students need to bring or purchase - Small bottle of Matte Mod PODGE or their favorite collage glue medium (gel medium) works as well. Foam Brush and Waterbrush.

 Having a lot of pets, I decided that I would challenge myself this month for Design Team by making a card that represents each one of my pets using our DT line for August, We R Memory Keepers "Friends Furever". My card today represents my oldest cat, Oliver.
Oliver is a strikingly handsome, super furry, gigantic (24 pounds!!), long-haired orange tabby. We took Oliver in when he was just about 6 weeks old, having found him in a neighbor's backyard. Oliver thinks his purpose in life is to lay in your lap and get fur on your clothes. He is also the "talker" in the family, constantly meowing and speaking to you whether you want to converse or not.
For my Oliver card, I used the orange paw print paper from We R along with some cream colored paper to represent Oliver's stripes. I stamped the paw print and meow (perfect for the talking cat!) in Rusty Hinge Distress ink and added some twine and bling. A quick card but I think it represents Oliver perfectly.
