We have a busy weekend ahead.  Lisa Hetrick has space left in her Copic 102 and Copic 103 classes.  Everyone signed up for either of these classes will get 10% off their Copic purchases.  We  also  have space in our Saturday night crop.

Yard Sale 

 

   

Stop in Sunday to shop our yard sale tables.  All the tables are in the store, so no worries about rain.  We have 9 people signed up for tables and we have an employee table.  Arrive early for the great deals.  Laura will be selling her cards and I will have a table with all proceeds going to World Vision.
  

All customer yard sale purchases must be made using Scraps Cash that you can purchase at the front counter (store credit).  Scraps Cash is not redeemable for actual cash but can be used for purchases at Photo Scraps.

 Flat Lisa loves to travel and she knows to always have her Bag Lady Bag on hand.  Show us where you take your Bag Lady Bag.  Post your photos on our Facebook page for all to see.   Once you post your photo, you will recieve a $5 gift certificate.  At the end of each month, will have a drawing for all who posted photos for a $25 gift certificate.   Each person can post one photo a month for store credit.

Remember - Advance
registration and payment is required for all classes 
and crops.  If we do not know you are coming to class,  we will not be prepared for you.   Our class sizes are limited and do sell out so be sure to call us as soon as you know you want to sign up for a class.  Some classes are available as kits,  just ask our staff.  You should always bring your basic tool kit (Adhesive, Scissors & Trimmer) to classes.  Refunds will be given with 24 hours advance notice of cancelation. 
 
The only events on our calendar that are Drop-in events are our two Demo Days, Creative Cafe Days and Wacky Wednesday Stamp Camp.

Copic 102

The class will include how to: 1. Shadows and Light Source. How to shade with the light source in mind.2. Colorless Blender Technique. How to fade to white and marker to blender pen pushing. 3. Blending Solution Techniques. Using the colorless blending solution to create texture (and a surprise technique Fee $22 (if you bring your own Copic blender pen) or $28.49 including the blender pen.  Please bring your own labeled Copics if you have them. 

 

Saturday May 14th 3-5 PM

Copic 103

 In this class we'll work through advanced coloring techniques: hair, skin tones, backgrounds, casting shadows on objects and adding other coloring mediums for enhanced detail (ie. colored pencil, white gel pen, watercolor pencil). This class is jam-packed, a bit fast paced and advanced. You will need to bring your own markers and a white gel pen (Uniball Signo White is  recommended). Click Here for hair and skin tone copic number combinations for you to choose from and bring or purchase from the store.  In class, you will complete a tech sheet covering all the techniques.  Fee $22

It's all about the embellishments. After Gina helps you pick out the papers and some embellishments to use,  you will make 2 pages using photos you bring, Gina will teach you how to use ribbon, fibers, tearing, brads, tags, inking stamping, buttons, chipboard, distressing techniques and flowers.

Avocado Arts
Lisa Hetrick will be teaching a combination Avocado Arts and technique class.  Everyone in the class will be getting their own stamp set to use while making these fun projects.  There will be 5 projects in all.  If you prepay for the class, you may get your stamp set as soon as they come in.  Fee $27

Sunday May 29th 1-4 PM
Flower Making Frenzy
Learn how to make 12 different flowers complete with flower pot.
Please bring scissors, hot glue gun and extra glue, embossing stylus or rub-on roller.  If you happen to have the tool kit from Punch Bunch, bring it.    Regular tape runners will not be strong enough to hold on many of the flowers that we are making. Fee $24

  May Design Team

Fancy Pants Beach Bum and Beach Babe

  

 

Though I love the new papers from Fancy Pants Beach Boy line that we are using for this month's Design Team, I just couldn't wrap my head around using any of them for this layout. I was determined to use these pictures and the embellishments (rub-ons, chip and cardstock shapes) all matched the theme perfectly. So, I thought outside the box and used another line's papers instead. I was searching high and low in the store for papers with more of a yellow-theme because that is what I pictured in my mind. The Fancy Pants papers, though FAB, had too much navy blue and red in them for my set of pictures. Instead I used the backsides of two papers from the Little Yellow Bicycle Babysaurus line--you never know which papers will work til you turn them over and are pleasantly surprised to find what you need!! I love yellow, esp for a happy summer layout like this. I also can't say enough about the quality of the Fancy Pants rub-ons....LOVE them! The bubbles, large wave, "Hello Sunshine" title and frame around the words "summer 2010" are all rub-ons. So easy to use, they are foolproof. And, yes, you can put them on paper or photos. One nice feature of the new site is the Event Calendar.   It lists each class and event in date order.  There is a photo of the event, important details about your classes and you can even register and pay with PayPal online!  Check out the photos in the Photo Gallery.   

 

I've been working hard to create an interactive website for all our customers to get together online, chat, post layouts, get store & class information, videos and downloads.   The first thing you need to do is register for the site.  It's free.  Then, you will be able to introduce yourself in the forum and post layouts in the gallery.  Please read the Getting Started information in the Forum.  I will still be using this blog so don't worry if you do not want to participate in the new website.  http://photoscraps.spruz.com/

YOUNG SCRAPPER'S BIRTHDAY OR SCOUT TROOP PACKAGE:

Exclusive use of our crop tables for 2 hours
Materials (adhesives, papers, embellishments, etc) provided for one mini-album or scrapbook page per child
Consultation on project in order to individualize the album for the party
Sales Associate will be on hand to guide the project with the party and provide guidance as needed
Theme to be selected by the birthday child or troop leader.

$10.00- $20.00 per child (depending on complexity of project)

BRIDAL SHOWERS
 
We would be happy to work up a special crop party for your bridal shower.  You can choose to all create scrapbook pages for the bride to use in her wedding album or a card making party to create invitaions or even thank you notes for the bride.  Prices will be customized for each party and whether or not you would like us to provide food and beverages.
