Copic & Cuttlebug Demo Day 11-8 PM

Wednesday Wednesday May 11, 2011 11-8 PM

We created six lovely cards using some new Hero Arts stamps. Tracy will be on hand from 11-2 to answer any Cuttlebug or Copic questions you may have. We do the cutting and you do the gluing and coloring. Just drop in anytime after 11 AM and purchase tickets for $2 each at the front counter for however many Demos you want to create. We provide glue sticks so if you prefer tape, please bring a labeled tape runner. If you get to the store by 7PM, you should have enough time to do all the demos. If you can't make it out on Wednesday, the cards will also be out on Thursday.

We will also have a couple of cards from last week out too. If you do 6 cards total, you will receive a coupon to use to Get a Free Copic Marker with the purchase of 6 markers. No limits on how many times you use this coupon. Offer valid on Wednesday May 11th only.

We received a large Copic order just last week so the selection is great.

All 4 new Doodlebug lines have arrived.

Yard Sale

If you have scrapbooking & paper crafting "overstock" that you'd like to sell, then this is the event for you! This is a great way to clear out your stash of things you haven't used in a bit & in turn get credit to buy the latest & greatest supplies to start fresh!

You may sell any scrapbook, rubber stamp, storage containers, stickers, inks & even handmade creations.

Here are the details:

Cost to participate is $15 per table inside the store. Each customer is responsible for setting up and working their own table. Set up starts at 11 AM.

All customer yard sale purchases must be made using Scraps Cash (store credit). Scraps Cash is not redeemable for actual cash but can be used for purchases at Photo Scraps.

If you want to donate some items, Kirstin is going to be having a table where all proceeds will go to World Vision.

registration and payment is required for all classes
and crops. If we do not know you are coming to class, we will not be prepared for you. Our class sizes are limited and do sell out so be sure to call us as soon as you know you want to sign up for a class. Some classes are available as kits, just ask our staff. You should always bring your basic tool kit (Adhesive, Scissors & Trimmer) to classes. Refunds will be given with 24 hours advance notice of cancelation.

The only events on our calendar that are Drop-in events are our two Demo Days, Creative Cafe Days and Wacky Wednesday Stamp Camp.

Copic 101 with Lisa Hetrick
The class will cover practicing the 1,2,3,1 technique on the stamped images that you will build the cards with & demystifying the number coloring system and practicing the techniques. Fee $22 (if you bring your own Copics) or $39 and you get to pick 3 Copic markers.

Saturday May 14th 1-3 PM

Copic 102

The class will include how to: 1. Shadows and Light Source. How to shade with the light source in mind.2. Colorless Blender Technique. How to fade to white and marker to blender pen pushing. 3. Blending Solution Techniques. Using the colorless blending solution to create texture (and a surprise technique Fee $22 (if you bring your own Copic blender pen) or $28.49 including the blender pen. Please bring your own labeled Copics if you have them.

Saturday May 14th 3-5 PM

Copic 103

In this class we'll work through advanced coloring techniques: hair, skin tones, backgrounds, casting shadows on objects and adding other coloring mediums for enhanced detail (ie. colored pencil, white gel pen, watercolor pencil). This class is jam-packed, a bit fast paced and advanced. You will need to bring your own markers and a white gel pen (Uniball Signo White is recommended). Click Here for hair and skin tone copic number combinations for you to choose from and bring or purchase from the store. In class, you will complete a tech sheet covering all the techniques. Fee $22

It's all about the embellishments. After Gina helps you pick out the papers and some embellishments to use, you will make 2 pages using photos you bring, Gina will teach you how to use ribbon, fibers, tearing, brads, tags, inking stamping, buttons, chipboard, distressing techniques and flowers.

You will be making a technique album and receiving 3 full sized bottles of Glimmer Mist, you choose the colors. Fee $27

Lisa Hetrick will be teaching a combination Avocado Arts and technique class. Everyone in the class will be getting their own stamp set to use while making these fun projects. There will be 5 projects in all. If you prepay for the class, you may get your stamp set as soon as they come in. Fee $27

We will be making 6 elegant cards perfect for giving to the newly married couple or the couple that has been married forever. Fee $24

Flower Making Frenzy

Learn how to make 12 different flowers complete with flower pot.

Please bring scissors, hot glue gun and extra glue, embossing stylus or rub-on roller. If you happen to have the tool kit from Punch Bunch, bring it. Regular tape runners will not be strong enough to hold on many of the flowers that we are making. Fee $24

Patriotic Pups

I know, I know.....you can't believe I am one of THOSE people (ie: people who dress their dogs up in seasonal props and take pictures!!). Well, I am and proud of it, though my kids are horrified every time I do it. (which of course makes me want to do it even more--spoken like the mother of two eye-rolling teenagers!!) These pictures make me laugh and my hounds (Myrtle and Daisy) are so patient and willing to cooperate. Their attention span can be bought with bones held just off camera...works like a charm! Anyhoo, when the new paper line from We R Memory Keepers for July 4th came in to our store, I knew instantly which pictures to pull out! This is one of my fav go-to companies, esp for their chipboard words and awesome decorative papers. I have always been such a fan of the red, white and blue combo and this layout screams fun and summer to me. The cute trio of pics down the left side were simply done with circle punches (plain and scalloped) using left over pictures. Hope this layout makes you smile as much as it does for me. Do you scrap your pets? We would love to see your layouts...bring them in to the store sometime. Anyone else out there have Basset Hounds like me? See you soon, enjoy the spring weather!! New Photo Scraps Web Site

One nice feature of the new site is the Event Calendar. It lists each class and event in date order. There is a photo of the event, important details about your classes and you can even register and pay with PayPal online! Check out the photos in the Photo Gallery.

I've been working hard to create an interactive website for all our customers to get together online, chat, post layouts, get store & class information, videos and downloads. The first thing you need to do is register for the site. It's free. Then, you will be able to introduce yourself in the forum and post layouts in the gallery. YOUNG SCRAPPER'S BIRTHDAY OR SCOUT TROOP PACKAGE:

Exclusive use of our crop tables for 2 hours
Materials (adhesives, papers, embellishments, etc) provided for one mini-album or scrapbook page per child
Consultation on project in order to individualize the album for the party
Sales Associate will be on hand to guide the project with the party and provide guidance as needed
Theme to be selected by the birthday child or troop leader.

$10.00- $20.00 per child (depending on complexity of project)

BRIDAL SHOWERS

We would be happy to work up a special crop party for your bridal shower. You can choose to all create scrapbook pages for the bride to use in her wedding album or a card making party to create invitaions or even thank you notes for the bride. Prices will be customized for each party and whether or not you would like us to provide food and beverages.
