Ah winter... the very word conjures up thoughts of crackling fires, scrumptious food and spending time with someone special. This winter, we are providing several opportunities to enjoy all three at Glen-Ella Springs!

In addition to a special Valentine's package, we've put together a few new events in our restaurant we hope will entice you to venture out and celebrate a season which has its own unique beauty. Whether it's gathering with a group of friends to enjoy our "Festival of Soups" on Thursday nights, or joining us for "An Evening in Tuscany" in February, we hope to see you soon.

The Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia, Sautee, GA

Folk Pottery Demonstrations on the third Saturday of the month from 10 am - 2 pm. Potters may have wares for sale during their demonstrations. Enjoy this wondrous creative process of folk pottery. Visit the link below for more information.

Historic Habersham Community Theatre

Enjoy live theatre! HCT has several upcoming productions during the months of January, February & March in Historic downtown Clarkesville. Check HCT's presentations dates on the link below.

34th Annual Fireside Art & Craft Show

February 21 & 22 from 10 am - 5 pm Over 60 of the Southeast's finest artists and crafts people will be presenting their art & crafts at this event. Address: Unicoi State Park, 1788 Highway 356 Rd, Helen, GA 30545.

Wine & Chocolate Lovers Celebration

February 7 & 8, 14 & 15, 21- & 22 from 1 pm - 5 pm. Three Sisters Vineyards in Dahlonega presents the Annual "Wine & Chocolate Lovers Celebration". During this event, the winery will combine chocolate and wines in a special tasting line-up. Call 706-865-9463 or click the link below.

Valentine's Package

VALENTINE'S PACKAGE $245.00 includes one night's lodging in king or queen room, dinner for two and a freshly prepared bountiful breakfast the next morning. (Pricing is based on double occupancy, $70 maximum dinner allowance, plus applicable sales tax and service fees). Extend your weekend to include Friday, February 13th, and receive Friday night at a special rate of $125.00 plus tax (king or queen room includes breakfast Saturday morning).

Enhance your experience by adding one of the following specialty services:

  • Bottle of wine with freshly prepared fruit, cheese and cracker tray delivered to your room upon arrival - $37.50
  • Chocolate confections custom made by Glen-Ella Springs' own pastry chef and packaged in a decorative keepsake container - $20.00
  • Surprise your sweetie with a spa inspired Glen-Ella Springs robe to take home as a special reminder of your getaway - $42.80
  • Exquisite mixed floral and red rose arrangement designed by one of the areas most creative florists delivered to your room prior to arrival - $85.00

Chef David is creating two special valentine entrees, in addition to our regular menu. He'll be preparing:

Chateaubriand
served with a bouquetière of vegetables and parsley red potatoes; and
Sautéed Pacific Sea Bass and Atlantic Halibut
served with roasted root vegetables and Meccare potatoes.
Each of these entrees will be priced at $50.00 per couple (plus applicable sales tax and service fees). Wine available at additional charge.

Festival of Soups
Soup

Join us every Thursday evening January through March for our "Festival of Soups". This special is offered in addition to our regular menu and includes a salad, trio of homemade soups and dessert. The cost is $20.00 per person (plus applicable sales tax and service fees). Come warm your heart and take the chill off your bones on a cold winter evening!


An Evening in Tuscany

Buon Appetito! We are pleased to announce the 2nd in our series, Celebrating Foods from Around the World. Join us Saturday, February 28, 2009 for "An Evening in Tuscany" beginning at 6 pm. This creative 5 course country Italian dinner will feature Tuscan favorites such as (not all menu items are listed):

Antipasti Crostini - unsalted bread topped with diced marinated tomatoes, basil pesto and goat cheese
Insalata Paesana - grilled raddichio and endive topped with roasted red pepper, gorgonzola cheese and a sweet balsamic reduction
Zuppa di Lenticchia - lentils simmered and pureed with garlic and cream
Piatti Principalli -
Pecorino Pollo - proscioutto and Pecorino stuffed chicken breast served with ravioli in a wild mushroom sauce and roasted seasonal vegetables
Dolci - Cioccolatissimo - rich strawberry- chocolate mousse served with biscotti

Overnight package - $150.00 per person (based on double occupancy) includes lodging in a king or queen room, Saturday dinner and breakfast Sunday morning.
