Every once in a while, the Strategy1 team would like to share a real life testimonial - a case study of what we do and the results our clients achieve.

Here is the story of Tucson Asphalt:


Last year we were referred by a Tucson business attorney to Tucson Asphalt Contractors, Inc, a locally owned construction company.  Like most companies in the construction trades, Tucson Asphalt was greatly impacted by the economic downturn and had reorganized itself into a smaller and leaner organization. 

The founder and president of Tucson Asphalt, Paul Polito, was looking for help but was justifiably cautious as he had been previously approached by out-of-town consulting firms who promised to fly in experts, but at a very high price.  As Paul recently told me, "In my 16th year and with this killer recession looming, I decided to look for help, thanks to the Strategy1 team, the tail no longer wags this dog."

After some initial interviews and assessments, we decided to start with Entrepreneurial Coaching and the development of a customized Living Action Plan.  This plan involved creating the fundamentals - Vision Statement and Core Values - and a new organizational chart. 

With a clear picture of the future and and non-negotiable rules of behavior in place, it was now evident that Tucson Asphalt needed a comprehensive hiring and training plan to attract and retain top talent.  After helping with some key hires and promotions, Strategy1 master trainer, Pat Taviss, developed and facilitated a custom "Train the Trainer" curriculum with all of the senior managers and supervisors. 

Per Paul Polito, the planning, coaching and training from Strategy1 has helped Tucson Asphalt accomplish the following results:
