Greetings!

Each person's story matters. We thank God for your story and how it gives you a unique opportunity to help others know Christ.

Embossed in God's Image

Alaska Summit by Janet Minnix

"Every woman has a story," one lady observed at the first Women's Transformational Summit in Alaska in 2010. It was true. Stories of broken dreams, rebellion and grief were shared around the tables, sometimes hesitantly and sometimes quite freely. Women prayed together, laughed together, and wept together. By Sunday morning walls had come down, old friendships were renewed and new friendships were established. The closing three-fold communion was also a time to reflect on what God had done in our hearts

This September 28-30, women will gather again in Anchorage, Alaska, for the second Women's Transformational Summit. Goals of the weekend include strengthening friendships and encouraging sisters in Christ who are separated from each other by miles and geography. Equally important will be discussions about what it means to be Embossed: Made in the Image of God. Returning to lead the Summit will be Dr. Christy Hill, professor in the School of Ministry Studies at Grace College and Seminary. Sessions will focus on being an image bearer, what mars our God-designed role, and a biblical perspective on "helper" as opposed to our cultural ideas and perspective. Enjoying breath-taking views of towering snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and pristine evergreen forests - majestic splendors of God's creation - will add vivid reminders of God's power and glory.

Lord willing, I'll be at the Summit. I look forward to reconnecting with women I met last time and hearing what God has done in their lives. Won't you come and join us? Lighting the darkness

As a special prayer focus this month, pray against the human trafficking in your area. Pray for God to shine His light into the dark places in our cities. Pray for God to rescue many young women who are deceived into this lifestyle that strips them of their God-given value. You can go to www.starfish-project.com to find out how your women can shop to save girls and help change their story.

Review by Christy Carmean

What do you do when you're in the In-between place, "that place of blind trust where the precepts of faith meet the narrow path of fortitude, and movement is demanded though there's no definitive place to go but forward."? Find out more about hearing God's voice in this month's review of The Sacred Echo.
