GraceTouch

Facilitating global impact

Greetings!

The first woman was created to reflect, along with man, God's image on this earth. How can we do this in a way that truly honors our Lord? We want to encourage you to keep pursuing your high calling to bless the world through your unique contributions as a woman.

What does the Bible teach about women?

My life as a woman has significance
Let's face it, sometimes as women we find ourselves struggling to figure out exactly what God wants from us, and how we fit into God's plan. Can women lead, and if so, what kind of leadership is appropriate? How can we make sure we're being true to God's Word, not usurping authority but not shirking our responsibility or missing opportunities for God's Kingdom? How does God view the feminine part of my soul? And how do we reconcile the passages that call for women to be silent in the church with ones that give specific instructions for how they can pray and prophesy in the church? Women and Scripture clas

The Women and Scripture class offered during the pre-conference activities for Vision2020 in Wooster, Ohio, addressed many of the questions women ask about what God calls them to be and do. Taught by Dr. Christy Hill, the class was the first offered as part of the Women's Leadership Studies through Grace College and Seminary. The group of 20 women who took the ten-hour class agreed that it was an eye-opening experience that strengthened them in their understanding of God's call on their lives. Additional classes are being planned and will be highlighted in this newsletter.  You can find out more about the Women's Leadership Studies at www.wgusa.org/ministries/womens-leadership-studies.

Speaking of women who lead...

What does it mean to lead out of fullness
Summit discussion

instead of exhaustion and depletion? The next Women's Leadership Summit will address the important topic of how a leader can preserve her own soul in the midst of the busyness of ministry. It will be held in Baltimore, Maryland, October 14-16. For more details go to www.wgusa.org/events/leadership-summit.

My soul could use a little rest!

Share the good news!
This issue of Women's Spectrum magazine is full of encouragement for finding rest for our souls, including one pastor's wife's story of how they've found ways to observe a Sabbath rest. Women across the Fellowship share what they have discovered about the kind of rest Jesus invites us to enjoy. This is a great issue to share with a friend! Laying strong foundations  difference

Women seem to have a strong intuitive awareness of the importance of passing truth on to our children. For most of us, it is a real passion. But what is the most effective way to make sure we're having an impact? Radical Difference gatherings offer an opportunity to discuss with other parents, teachers and pastors what our churches can be doing to lay a strong foundation that makes a radical difference for our children and youth.  Upcoming gatherings will be held in Goshen, Indiana, September 17 and in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, October 22. For more information go to www.radicaldifference.org.
