Changes to transfers

Update on LISA Transfer Rules - 3 per team

This year the LISA Club Presidents have been heavily invested in discussing the issue of transfers due to a clause in the constitution that stated unless a change was made the 5-3-1 transfer rule reverted back to the previous 3 transfers per team.

At the recent LISA Annual General Meeting no motions on the floor received the 75% presidential support needed under the Societies Act to change the constitution.

Therefore as we move into the 2012/2013 season all LISA teams will be permitted to have 3 out-of-boundary players commonly referred to as transfers.

Coaching exemptions still exist in this changed environment based on a parent being the current head coach only. Coaching exemption-grandparented no longer exist.

What does this mean for you? Some clubs have an increased number of transfers per team some have a decreased number of transfers per team and some have stayed the same. To be sure you understand what this means for you, either as a coach or a player please be sure to speak with your club executive.
