Kaitlynn Gonzales, Class of 2010 Merced, CA |
"Your school has provided a great christian environment for my son's spiritual growth. Also your school offers a very challenging academic environment. I have enjoyed seeing and hearing my son's personal growth. I love to see the fruit of my labor flourish. Thank You Monterey Bay Academy!"

"My conversion to Christ at MBA set my life in a direction that cannot be described in words, because it has been an experience. I could never repay the valuable training and life preparation I received at MBA."

"I feel a certain pride toward MBA. I feel it is a school that really develops a child's character. Compared to other schools I have seen, MBA seems so personal and because of the boarding school experience, it is like a family. I feel very attached to MBA and being at MBA makes me feel like part of a kind of special 'club', a club connected with God that has many members that all have that same feeling."

"I am indebted to the teachers and leaders that I now realize were making great sacrifices to work at MBA. The education, discipline, and life-long friendships from my years at MBA are invaluable assets that will live with me forever."

 | Tim Kubrock, Principal | Dear MBA Family,
In my mind's eye, I still have a clear picture of my 6-year old daughter, Jessica, posing with her little lunch pail preparing for her first day of school in 1st grade (1994). Remember how we had to take the roll of film in to be developed before we could see the pictures? Last week-end, I attended her graduation from Loma Linda University with a degree in dental hygiene. This summer, my 23-year old little girl/beautiful young woman, will be getting married. Perhaps many of you can remember your child's first day of school 12 years ago. How quickly they grow up! "Sunrise, sunset, quickly go the years......"--from Fiddler on the Roof. This week-end, we celebrate together the graduation and accomplishments of our 61 seniors here at MBA. |
Congratulations Dean Patricia and Matt Fitting!
|

I am very happy to announce the arrival of twin girls, Aubrey Carmen and Autumn Kara Fitting to the MBA family! They were born to Dean Patricia and Matt on May 24 and are now safely home with mom and dad in the girls' dorm. The dorm students had a chance to meet them a few days ago when Matt and Patricia brought them to dorm worship. Congratulations to the proud parents and grandparents! I'm pretty sure that Grandmothers Carmen and Kara are happy to share their names with these little granddaughters!

I HAVE SOME GREAT NEWS TO ANNOUNCE! Last Friday, we received a $1 million dollar pledge to help us completely remodel the dormitory bathrooms!! The newly remodeled bathrooms will include individual showers and changing stalls for privacy and the latest in technology and energy efficiency. This gift is the jump start of a capital campaign project that will be a HUGE improvement for our students and visitors in the years to come.
We are currently accepting applications for next school year. Our admissions committee meets each Tuesday morning. Students must re-apply or be accepted before they are able to: work at MBA this summer; reserve dorm rooms for next year; apply for financial aid; or schedule their classes. (We have attached a tentative working copy of next year's class schedule, click here) You should have already received the bright green re-application form in the mail for next year. If you would like to save $100 next year, be sure to submit your child's reapplication ASAP and submit registration fee by July 15. (see the re-application form for more information or contact Registrar Donna Baerg at: academics@montereybayacademy.org )
Be sure your child cleans out his/her locker and turns in books to the library to receive credit. If you plan to sign your child up for approved summer classes, be sure to contact registrar Donna Baerg first to determine if academic credit will be accepted by MBA.

This will be my final newsletter for this school year. We hope to see all of our non-seniors again for 2011-2012. On behalf of all of us here at MBA, I want to THANK YOU for entrusting your children to us. It is our hope and prayer that their time spent at MBA has helped prepare them to live that extraordinary life and to be prepared to change the world.
Quotes for today: "If we are to reach real peace in this world . . . we shall have to begin with the children."-- Gandhi
"Don't worry that children never listen to you. Worry that they are always watching you."-- Robert Fulghum
"You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth."-- Kahlil Gibran
"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it."-- Proverbs 22:6
May God continue to richly bless you and your families. I look forward to seeing you again next year.
All the best, sincerely yours,
Tim Kubrock Principal
