"The atmosphere at MBA is very warm and supportive, the teachers are very Christ centered, the school offers many interesting opprotunities for a variety of activities, and the campus is an idyllic place to attend school."

"It's a family friendly school, it creates opportunities in all aspects of life. Including education, life lessons, and getting closer to God. You also make friendships here that are impossible to make anywhere else."

Kaitlynn Gonzales, Class of 2010

"Your school has provided a great christian environment for my son's spiritual growth. Also your school offers a very challenging academic environment. I have enjoyed seeing and hearing my son's personal growth.  I love to see the fruit of my labor flourish. Thank You Monterey Bay Academy!"

"My conversion to Christ at MBA set my life in a direction that cannot be described in words, because it has been an experience.  I could never repay the valuable training and life preparation I received at MBA."

Jose Rojas, Class of 1979

Director, Volunteer Ministries, North American Division of SDA

"I feel a certain pride toward MBA.  I feel it is a school that really develops a child's character.  Compared to other schools I have seen, MBA seems so personal and because of the boarding school experience, it is like a family.  I feel very attached to MBA and being at MBA makes me feel like part of a kind of special 'club', a club connected with God that has many members that all have that same feeling
."

."

Dear MBA Family,

I recently bought a new hose hanger from Lowe's.  When I opened it, I found a 4-page instruction booklet.  REALLY!  This was a simple piece of metal with 3 screws to attach to a wall.  Why I needed a 4-page manual to cover the parts inventory, installation, safety, and proper care--I don't know.  Maybe because the 3-screw model was more advanced than the 2-screw model--who knows?  To someone, somewhere, it seemed like a good idea at the time.  Sometimes we make Christianity more complicated than it really needs to be.  As one week of prayer speaker presented to us, "the main thing is to keep the main thing, the MAIN THING."  As Christians, may we keep our hopes and fears, our daily interactions, relationships and dreams firmly grounded in Jesus Christ.
MBA Happenings

It has been a long time since my last newsletter--sorry.  We are now into the final two weeks of our school year.  This week-end will be filled with memorable programs and events.  On Friday evening,  Impressions will be presenting the play "Catacombs" in the church at 8:00pm.  Mrs. Susan Singer will be the speaker for our church service on Sabbath at 11:10am.  The Oceanaires and Westwinds will be presenting a sacred concert in Baker Chapel at 3:00pm on Sabbath afternoon.  At 8:30 pm they will be presenting their Spring Musical program in Baker chapel.  On Sunday morning, the Men of McQuaide will be presenting the Parent/Son Banquet in the cafeteria beginning at 10:00am.  I hope you will be able to join us for some of these excellent programs.

Graduation Week-end, June 3-5

Graduation capFinal exams will be held May 30, June 1 and 2.  Please make financial arrangements with Business Manager Mayra Thompson ([email protected]) to release test permits for all students.  Seniors must have their account zeroed out in order to take exams and receive their diplomas.  All sophomores and freshmen need to move out of the dorms after their last test on Thursday, June 2 (unless they are involved in Graduation week-end music performances or have siblings who are graduating).  All juniors and seniors are expected to participate in graduation exercises during the week-end.  Any exceptions need to be requested in writing to administration by June 1st.
Friday Consecration at 8pm will feature MBA Pastor Jeff Deming as speaker.  Sabbath Baccalaureate service will be presented by Don Mackintosh, Director, Amazing Facts College of Evangelism.  Sunday morning, former MBA pastor and principal Bill Keresoma '70 will be speaking for Commencement at 10:00am.  Come celebrate the accomplishments of our 61 graduating seniors!
