Dear music parents,
The Fine Arts Weekend was a splendid success! Your children did themselves proud. Thank you to all who were able to attend. I hope you were as blessed as I was. It is such a joy to see God's Spirit working to develop a more perfect praise in the hearts, hands and mouths of the young people at MBA.
In addition to great music, the auction was a thing of beauty. The students raised almost $2,400.00. Thanks so much to all the parents and students who worked hard to find/make items. And a huge thanks to Jan Shakespeare who put in the long hours, rallied the troops, and made it all happen.

Central California Conference Choral Performance Weekend
|
The Choral Performance Weekend has been canceled for the 2010-2011 school year. There are plans in motion to make it a reality next year, but this year did not work out. Sorry.

Tour Attendance Policy
| It has become ever more apparent that I have not communicated the tour attendance policy with enough clarity. There have been several concerned parents contacting me over the last month, and for that I apologize. So here it is, straight from the horses...fingers:
The music department and administration at MBA feel music tours to be of great value to our students. It provides them a plethora of spiritual, mental, social, cultural, and of course musical growth opportunities. Therefore, we strongly encourage all students to attend. However, and especially in these trying economic times, we also recognize that such a trip may not be a viable option for all participants. For this reason, no student's grade will be docked in any way due to non-participation in the major tour.

Tour Payments
| Thanks again for those staying current with this process. I finally managed to get the spreadsheet finished. It is current as of the end of 1st semester, including payments, innitial "lab fee" payment, see's candy and candy bars, and silent auction. You can find the form in the sidebar under Resources, under Tour Payments, or here.
The business office would also like me to remind you that your bill has to be current within 45 days in order to participate on tour. Paying for tour but not for your bill is a no-go.

Passport
| If you have not started this process, your are dangerously close to the "rush" category, which costs a lot more money. Take care of this as soon as possible...or sooner.

MLAJA/Sonora mini-tour
| I realize this is very late in the game (we leave tomorrow), but better late than never. Our winter mini-tour is shaping up to be a real hum-dinger. We are trying something a little different this time. The staff and administration agreed to let us leave a day earlier to catch some of the elementary schools that we never make it to. We will leave early Thursday morning and return Saturday night. All in all, we have seven concerts within that time frame!
And if that wasn't enough, we will still have time to spend most of Friday skiing/boarding at Dodge Ridge. The students (and one of their teachers) are very excited about this. For a more detailed description of the tour, click here.
Please pray for the health and safety of our students during this rigorous tour agenda. And also pray that our music ministry will reach the ears of those that need to hear it. |

May you enjoy the warmth of Christ's blessings during this winter season. God bless,
Kristian K. Leukert Music Director
