Dear music parents,

The Fine Arts Weekend is almost upon us.  I do hope you are all planning to attend.  I know you will be so impressed with how hard your children have worked and how great they sound!  Check out the performance schedule for a list of performances and times.

Confirmed Concert Change

A big thanks to those of you that responded to my inquiry regarding a possible schedule change.  Since there were no objections, the change has been finalized.  Here is the new schedule.  Please make note:  Westwinds, not Choir/Oceanaires, will be performing on January 22nd for the MBA SDA Church.

Central California Conference
Choral Performance Weekend

Parents of choir students, the CCC Choral Performance Weekend is going to be held on February 3-5.  As indicated on the master schedule, this event involves the choir.  I want our entire choir to attend.  It is a great opportunity to meet new friends, see old friends from other schools, strengthen relationships with each other and with Christ, and, of course, sing lots and lots...and lots of great music.

The festival is being held in Fresno this year.  There will be a concert on Sabbath, February 5.  I hope you all can make it.  It will be a concert you won't want to miss.  Not only will the giant mass choir sing a handful of selections, but each individual choir will sing a couple of songs, too.

The fee for this event will be $40 per student.  This will cover lodging, meals, music expenses, the clinician, etc.  If you are absolutely, resolutely and unabashedly against having your child attend this event, please contact me asap.

Tour Payments

The first payment of $250 was due a couple of weeks ago.  Most families have yet to pay.  We need this money to reserve plane tickets.  Please make this payment happen I will be posting a chart in the next week or so.  This will enable you to see exactly how much money has come in for your child.

Fundraising

Silent Auction
- Jan Shakespeare is eagerly anticipating your items.  She has still heard from very few at this point.  Remember, you only have a few more days to report items to Jan.  Monday is the last day.  Here is the contact form Jan would like you to use:  in hardcopy to print and mail/turn in, or the online version.  This gives us the necessary information to get organized, as well as provide the tax deductible receipts.  Reminder:  70% of the proceeds from your family's donations will go directly to your child's tour fee.  The more items you bring, the more money you can make for tour.  The deadline for donations is December 6.  No items will be accepted after December 6.  Donations need not be at the school at that time.  They just need to be reported to Jan so she can make the necessary arrangements.

See's Candy Winter Fundraiser - There were a few of you who took advantage of this fundraiser.  I know there were several more who wanted to, and had even sold some items, but did not turn the material in by the deadline.  I feel bad that you were not able to make this fundraiser work for you.  In the future, please be very diligent to be on time.  For those of you that did turn in orders, the pick-up time will be even earlier than expected.  All orders will be available for pick-up by on 12/7.

Letters of Solicitation - Still no takers on this one, despite several families expressing interest.  Do it before the end of the fiscal year.  People are looking for last minute tax write-offs.  I have made available to the students letters to send to family and friends soliciting tax deductible donations.  I will even cover the postage.  Just fill out the info and address the provided envelopes, and I will mail them out for you.  Even a small amount of money from a large amount of friends will make a big difference.  Some prefer to not solicit family and friends, and that is fine.  This is merely one of the available options.

Here's hoping your Christmas season is filled to overflowing with the light of Christ, the timeless gift.

God bless,
Leukert Signature
