"My conversion to Christ at MBA set my life in a direction that cannot be described in words, because it has been an experience. I could never repay the valuable training and life preparation I received at MBA."

"I feel a certain pride toward MBA. I feel it is a school that really develops a child's character. Compared to other schools I have seen, MBA seems so personal and because of the boarding school experience, it is like a family. I feel very attached to MBA and being at MBA makes me feel like part of a kind of special 'club', a club connected with God that has many members that all have that same feeling."

Sibling rivalry was defused as the Hayton sisters cheered for their
brothers on opposing teams earlier this year. |
From the Principal's Desk
|
 | Tim Kubrock, Principal | Dear MBA Family,
MBA often hosts Friendship games athletic tournaments for Adventist schools. Pictured above are the Hayton children during MBA's flag-football tournament in September. Cambria '07; Connor-sophomore at Redlands Adventist Academy; Cole '11; and Summer '06. (p.s. MBA prevailed over the RAA boys this year:). This week-end, there will be 7 schools participating in the MBA Varsity Volleyball tournament. I'm glad our school believes in promoting the harmonious development of the physical, mental, social and spiritual life of our students. |
MBA Happenings | This week-end, Tarynn Machado '06 will be speaking about her experiences as a student missionary in Honduras. MBA welcomes 6 sister schools to our Varsity Volleyball tournament (Armona; Bakersfield; Central Valley; El Dorado; Fresno; and Mountain View). Games in the gym will begin on Friday at 1:00pm and conclude by 4:30pm on Sunday (see attached schedule). Sabbath afternoon will find each of the teams out collecting warm clothing for the homeless/needy in our community. Coats, socks and blankets are especially needed. On Saturday night and Sunday, MBA clubs and classes will be selling food items. Come out and enjoy the games-admission is free! |
Next Week | On Tuesday, Nov. 16, there will be a College Fair in the MBA library from 10:00am to 1:30pm. Many Adventist College representatives will be here with information and promotional materials. On Wednesday, Nov. 17, it will be ASB letter night from 6:30 to 7:30pm. This is when it becomes appropriate for boys to ask girls to the ASB Christmas Banquet on Sunday, December 5. On Thursday, Nov. 18, MBA will play its first varsity basketball home games of the year against visiting Alvarez High School (girls' game at 6:00pm and boys at 7:30pm). On Friday, Nov. 19, there will be a special assembly program and evening vespers presented by the group "Invisible Children." This organization works to end the use of child soldiers in war-torn Northern Uganda. As you can see, there is never a dull moment in the day of a life at MBA. |

Meet the Staff |
| Gianna Spence, Girls' Taskforce Dean | Taskforce Dean Gianna Spence comes to MBA this year from her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She graduated from Highland Academy in Tennessee and has spent the last 2 years at Southern Adventist University. Dean Gianna has been very involved in coaching this year (JV Football, Volleyball and Basketball). However, you may not realize that she has a love of horses and spends approx. 10 to 12 hours a week volunteering over at the Monterey Bay Horsemanship & Therapeutic Center on our campus. She enjoys helping disabled children experience therapy riding and either walks beside the horse or rides sitting behind the child. She has worked as a wrangler the past 2 summers at Indian Creek Camp. Dean Gianna hopes to become a clinical Psychologist someday. She likes the opportunities here to interact with the girls in the dorm and to build relationships with them. She is praying that God will use her as a tool this year as a positive influence. |
