THE TRUTH IS...
"My conversion to Christ at MBA set my life in a direction that cannot be described in words, because it has been an experience. I could never repay the valuable training and life preparation I received at MBA."
Jose Rojas, Class of 1979
Director, Volunteer Ministries, North American Division of SDA |
"I feel a certain pride toward MBA. I feel it is a school that really develops a child's character. Compared to other schools I have seen, MBA seems so personal and because of the boarding school experience, it is like a family. I feel very attached to MBA and being at MBA makes me feel like part of a kind of special 'club', a club connected with God that has many members that all have that same feeling."
Danica Betts, Class of 2011
Associated Student Body (A.S.B.) Executive Vice President 2010-2011 |
"I am indebted to the teachers and leaders that I now realize were making great sacrifices to work at MBA. The education, discipline, and life-long friendships from my years at MBA are invaluable assets that will live with me forever."
Scott Nelson, M.D., Class of 1988
Medical Director, CURE International, Haiti and Santo Domingo |

Pink Day at MBA raises awareness and money for breast cancer. Sponsored by the student-led organization STΔY (See The Change in You). |
From the Principal's Desk

 | Tim Kubrock, Principal | Dear MBA Family,
Your students are full of energy and always keep us entertained! Recently, I was taking a group of boys to town when to my shock-- I heard a police siren behind me. After I carefully checked my mirrors and looked everywhere possible--I realized that one of the boys in the back of my van was playing a good joke on me with a ring tone on his cell phone (Thanks Meng Qi)! I had a new experience earlier this year when another student, Bryan Sullivan, came up to me in the gymnasium and prayed for me in the midst of Registration Day. Last week, a student-led group raised over $1,000 for breast cancer awareness. It is a blessing to be able to work with so many talented and caring young people. |

Thank you for participating in our Senior Recognition and Parent week-end. We were glad to see so many of you here for the week-end. On Sunday and Monday, all seniors (we have 66 of them) will be attending "College Visitation Days" at Pacific Union College in the Napa Valley. The overnight experience will give them an opportunity to experience college life, interact with students, attend college classes and meet with professors. They will leave on Sunday at 1:45pm and return on Monday around 7:30pm. |

MBA Phone System Problems |
We are continuing to have problems with our phone voice mail system. When you call the main school number, the phone will be answered in the business office (week days) and at the girls dorm (evenings and week-ends) until we are able to fix the system. We hope to have it fixed by Nov. 12. We apologize for any inconvenience. |
Meet the Staff |
 | Chris Morris, Mathematics Teacher |
MBA's new math teacher, Mr. Chris Morris is starting his 14th year as an Academy teacher. He is a graduate of Thunderbird Academy in Arizona and Southwestern Adventist University in Texas. Most recently, he taught math at San Diego Academy for the past 7 years. Mr. Morris loves it when students have the "AHA" moment in education. He has a burden to help all students overcome the idea that math is overwhelming and complex to seeing them succeed and realize they can understand it. Mr. Morris was recognized as a "Teacher of Excellence" by the Alumni Awards Foundation in 2003. He has added two new classes, Statistics and Calculus to our math curriculum this year. Mr. Morris loves to sing, play the piano, sing, play basketball and sing some more. He also enjoys spending time with his wife of 12 years, Cesiah and their two children, Miles and Carissa. We are glad to welcome the Morris family to MBA. |
