THE TRUTH IS...
"My conversion to Christ at MBA set my life in a direction that cannot be described in words, because it has been an experience. I could never repay the valuable training and life preparation I received at MBA."
Jose Rojas, Class of 1979
Director, Volunteer Ministries, North American Division of SDA |
"I feel a certain pride toward MBA. I feel it is a school that really develops a child's character. Compared to other schools I have seen, MBA seems so personal and because of the boarding school experience, it is like a family. I feel very attached to MBA and being at MBA makes me feel like part of a kind of special 'club', a club connected with God that has many members that all have that same feeling."
Danica Betts, Class of 2011
Associated Student Body (A.S.B.) Executive Vice President 2010-2011 |
"I am indebted to the teachers and leaders that I now realize were making great sacrifices to work at MBA. The education, discipline, and life-long friendships from my years at MBA are invaluable assets that will live with me forever."
Scott Nelson, M.D., Class of 1988
Medical Director, CURE International, Haiti and Santo Domingo |

From the Principal's Desk

 | Tim Kubrock, Principal | Dear MBA Family,
I remember an experience I had while attending a major league baseball game when I was young. Before the game began, a player came over near the railing in left field. I watched as he stood and studied the crowd silently for about 30 seconds. The crowd grew bigger and louder, with many shouting his name and requesting his autograph. Then he called out in a loud voice-"Where are the Mothers?" We looked around in silence, unsure of what he meant. "Where are your manners? Doesn't anybody know how to say 'please'?" It was perfectly silent for about 2 seconds, then a new chorus of voices clamored for his autograph "please." I don't remember the game or score from that day, but the player's name was Bill North. Every person on this planet has the ability to influence others and to make a difference. How are you using your influence today? What will people remember you for? |
MBA Happenings |
Approximately 300 people attended the CCC prayer conference this past week-end here at MBA. THANK YOU to the Conference Youth Evangelism Team, MBA Staff, students and other volunteers and workers who helped make this special event possible.
Four of us from MBA were privileged to attend a National Summit on Adventist Education last week at La Sierra University. More than 200 participants gathered from across North America to focus on ways we can strengthen Adventist Education now and plan for the future. It was truly an inspirational experience.
With the end of flag-football season, many students are now turning their attention to the upcoming volleyball and basketball seasons. All students who want to participate in our athletic programs must meet and maintain a 2.0 GPA and have no lower than a C in citizenship and a C- in attendance. |
Looking Ahead |
Parent week-end and Senior Recognition is happening this week-end, Oct. 29-31. Friday will be a regular Friday schedule school day. MBA Phone System Problems |
We are continuing to have problems with our phone voice mail system. When you call the main school number, the phone will be answered in the business office (week days) and at the girls dorm (evenings and week-ends) until we are able to fix the system. We apologize for any inconvenience. |
Meet the Staff |
 | Kristian Leukert, Director of Music | Kristian Leukert arrived at MBA this summer with his wife Aimee, and daughter Liana (now 2 years old). Their second daughter, Kayleigh was born on August 28. Previously, Mr. Leukert taught music at NewburyParkAcademy in Southern California for the past 6 years. He graduated from ThunderbirdAcademy in Arizona where his father was a long-time music teacher and later principal. Mr. Leukert loves teaching music and is a talented vocalist and trumpet player. The Leukert family enjoys taking walks, going to the beach, and visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. "We are having a great time here and enjoy being a part of the MBA family" says Mr. Leukert. Some of you might see him in action soon as the Oceanaires and Westwinds director. |
