Tim Kubrock, Principal | Dear MBA Family,
Greetings from beautiful M.B.A., where "Land and Sea Unite to Inspire." This is my first weekly newsletter for 2010-2011. I hope to keep you informed about events and happenings on campus during this school year through the use of this new email service. Please feel free to share this newsletter or communicate with me if you wish to be removed from the list.
Last week, our nation marked the 9th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11. Perhaps you watched the unbelievable collapse of New York's World Trade Center like I did on that terrible day in 2001. When completed in 1972, the 110-story twin towers were the tallest buildings on earth and took over 5 years to build. But in less than an hour, each tower came crashing down.
This reminded me of a quote from American Will Rogers, "It takes a lifetime to build a good reputation, but you can lose it in a minute." Here at MBA, we believe in the importance of helping students build Christian characters. What students learn here is probably not as important as who they become. |
MBA Happenings |
We have enjoyed a smooth start to this school year. I'm happy to tell you that we have a very positive group of students (211) and staff members this year. In addition, 95 students have signed up to take Bible Studies. The sun even came out to help celebrate A.S.B.'s 'slip and slide' activity on Wednesday night this week. Today, 25 students left for Bible Conference at beautiful Camp Wawona, located inside Yosemite National Park. This Sunday, our Varsity flag-football teams will travel to a tournament at Central Valley Christian Academy in Ceres. |
Looking Ahead |
No doubt many of you are looking forward to seeing your children next week during our first home leave of the school year. It will begin at 12:25pm on Wednesday, Sept. 22 and classes will resume on Tuesday morning, Sept. 28. The dormitories and cafeteria are closed during our home leaves. Please plan to pick up your students from the dorms by 5pm on Wednesday and return them between 3pm and 10pm on Monday evening.
Thank you for entrusting your children to us this school year. We will do our very best to provide a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive and grow. Attached, you will find a link for our staff phone numbers and email addresses. Please use these to communicate with us as we work together with your children. |
